Lismore Martinborough Pinot Gris 2018

MICHAEL COOPER DipWSET

#pinotgris from #nzwine #martinborough okay overpriced but still lovely and textural. Lots of ripe Granny Smith and green water pears in the nose and palate. Also a bit flinty (screwcap) lemon rind, honey, ripe pineapple...my God as I’m writing this tasting note I’m liking it more and more. Has some Rieslingesque qualities and just a pinch of sweet ripe fruit on the finish — 6 years ago

The bouquet smells like honeyed peach. This wine feels effervescent on the tongue even though it is not a sparkling wine. Rocks are the theme of the palate. It tastes of stone fruit with minerality in the finish. Great with Vietnamese-style baked chicken.

Marlborough Pinot Gris 2016

This #newzealand #pinotgris features white peach, lemon, guava and other tropical fruit aromas. On the palate it has a off-dry character but it’s honest in that you taste the same aromas - a quite agreeable crisp white. — 7 years ago

Vignoble Poiron-Dabin

Seduction Vin de Pays du Val de Loire Pinot Gris 2017

Vintage 2017 / My brother in law brought this wine in France from the #loire and said: try this. I opened it for Sunday lunch with ripe Guadeloupe melon with ham. It surprised me, #pinotgris is seldom seen in the Loire area. It has a shy spicy smell and an beautiful balance in taste with refined sweetness. Awesome effort of the producer. — 8 years ago

Reuilly Pinot Gris

Vintage 2015 - Festive rosé from #pinotgris from the Loire #reuilly to celebrate the third place of a Brabantse Wijnsociëteit team in the Dutch Championship blindtasting. The team consisted of @Diederick Swagemakers @Berry Marinussen @Noel Geisen and myself, coached by @Martijn I am proud! The curious rosé is well balanced and has a juiciness that makes you want to drink another glass. Very vivid. Good effort of Claude Lafond! — 8 years ago

Reserve Alsace Pinot Gris 2021

Delicious #alsace #pinotgris - do yourself a favor and let this warm up a bit in the glass. Nose has lemon oil, marzipan, lanolin - bright acidity on the palate, white pepper at the very end. — 2 years ago

Apolloni Vineyards

Willamette Valley Pinot Gris 2018

Fascinating #willamettevalley white from #apollonivineyards. I had the distinct pleasure of being served this wine from the winemaker/owner Alfredo Apolloni, who made the trip for a tasting event at a local Houston wine bar. Alfredo was humble and engaging. He walked me through this wine, choosing to age 25% in acacia wood barrels so there’s a really compelling white citrus blossom aroma mingling with grippy tannins, hints of vanilla but no malolactic fermentation to preserve freshness and acidity. The acid bite is offset with forward fruit on this #pinotgris — 6 years ago

You were very fortunate to meet the vintner. All their wines are wonderful and the winery grounds are fun to visit! I recommend their rose’ as well as their Pinot noir if you want to try more of their wines.

I’m pathetically jealous that you have a Dutch wine posted. I’ve had this producer a few times but it’s been a while. Glad to see quality is on the rise!

@Chris MacLean Thanks Chris. Apostelhoeve is the first Dutch vineyard. Since 1970. I am glad to see it in toprestaurants. This cuvee XII is doing well with food. Due to global warming quantity of vineyards has increased, but certainly quality as well. 😊
