baked apples and spice and super glicerol texture. #pinotgris #alsace #frenchwine #france #zusslin — 6 years ago
Straw hue. Nose of white flowers and orchard fruit. Fresh pear, apple, peach, and cantaloupe, honeysuckle, white lilies, honey, and wet stone on the palate. Dry. Vintage 2017. ABV 13%. Works well with the spiciness and heat of the chili. Spent considerable time thinking about what best to pair with chili, from a wine perspective. Glad we chose this one, but second choice was to pair with a Southern Rhône, Grenache-based blend, which leads me to this question: what wine do you think best complements chili or a red-meat dish with Mexican spices? So curious as to what others have tried and liked. #riesling #alsace #alsacegrandcru #schlossberg #annekriesling — 6 years ago

Dry, 12% alcohol. Apple blossoms and cold steel. Ripping acidity. Unfiltered. Everything you want in basic, dry Alsace Riesling. #riesling #barmesbuecher #alsace — 8 years ago
Just silly delicious #alsace #pinotnoir . Credit goes to one of my online wine community buddies to describe this lush lingonberry aroma up front that carries right through to the palate plus a background of tart cherry juice, sous bois base notes and some long pepper sweet spice on the finish. Food pairings I can vouch for: Beyond Burger with sautéed 🍄🟫 - ✅, Papa Murphy’s take-and-bake veggie pizza - ✅ . #lastbottle — 2 years ago
Too ripe, already oxidized and just not for me. 2017 and already one foot in the grave. Also too expensive. Just because it’s #Grandcru #alsace doesn’t make it taste #premium I actually am sort of steering clear of Grand Cru Alsace and Grand Cru Chablis which, due to climate change or due to winemakers searching for ”more expression” are overripe and have lost their Mojo in my opinion. — 6 years ago
Vintage 2017 / #biodynamic AGentil wine, like they used to make in #Alsace long ago. Made from #riesling #muscat #pinotgris #gewurztraminer. Vibrant wine with good balance. Paired it as a starter with ripe pear and bluecheese. — 8 years ago
Explosive rose petal aromatics with lots of spice. Significantly off dry on the palate was surprising. Good fresh acid and lot to much bitterness. #alsace #gewürtztraminer #blindtasting — 8 years ago
Delicious #alsace #pinotgris - do yourself a favor and let this warm up a bit in the glass. Nose has lemon oil, marzipan, lanolin - bright acidity on the palate, white pepper at the very end. — 2 years ago
Chalky lemon and lime mineral nose, candied grapefruit rind, crystalline green apple, Bosc pear. Perfect balance in an adroit turn from tart citrus to tangy apple. Every facet shining. Lemon persists with a salinity that keeps giving. Sublime.

2006. Rich, filtered apple gold. Nose of Bosc pear, baked lemon, warm yellow apple, lemon tart, coconut husk, dry sage, roasted almond, and honey crystal. Palate shows honey flash before flood of lemon juices, lime juice and pith, sweet grapefruit and lemongrass. Sweet at 16, balanced and finishing dry and refreshing!

2015. Always one of my favorite Alsace wines. Like a lot of wines of this hot, dry, problematic vintage, it’s not built for the long run, but it’s fat, rich and full of spiced pear and vanilla aromas and flavors. Bring on the choucroute! #schoffit #chasselas #alsace — 8 years ago
A bit diffuse, with low acidity; something that plagues a lot of Alsace ‘15s. Subtle, one note aroma & palate of apple blossoms; I might’ve called it Riesling blind. Still, mildly sweet and very tasty. Drink up. #gewürtztraminer #albertmann #alsace — 8 years ago

Gratifying #alsace #gewurztraminer. Off-dry style, great choice for a highly acclaimed fine dining Indian restaurant. Honeysuckle, jasmine, lemon gummy nose, glossy honeyed texture and taste on palate, touch of bitter citrus on the finish and a hint of spice. The generous RS only left me wishing I had ordered my Amritsari cod with a considerably spicier masala than default, as this wine could easily stand up to the heat. — a year ago
