I've had a weird relationship with this wine where I passed on the vintage when I first had it because the reductive qualities were too intense... A 6 months later I was loving it for it's tension and verve. Now here we are basically a year later and the reduction is essentially gone. The fruit has really come out and you can definitely sense the character of the 2015 vintage. I barrel tasted the 2016 which will be coming out soon and I think it's going to be even better! These are honestly some of the best domestic chardonnay I've tasted in my wine career.

Slightly cloudy appearance, dull not bright. Discovered tiny pieces of solid matter in the glass so seems unfined and unfiltered. Definitely better uncorked than Coravinned, needs to breath a little. With Coravin there’s some reductive notes and vegetable notes. Medium(-) aromas that remind me of stems and fermentation (tank sample) definitely som stems in the ferment. Warm alcohol on the nose and on the palate. Still, good balance between the intensity and the richness of ripe red fruit and the acidity. A little too much alcohol sensation for me. #eolaamityhills #oregon #oregonwine #pinotnoir — 4 years ago
Talk about an introduction to Washington state wines! Wow. @Benjamin Keator and @Keith Fisher were kind enough to share a glass of some big boy WA wines, and both were super unique.
I have never in my life had a Syrah like this. @Mark Flesher was on point when he said the nose had a tuna smell to it. Some also got dill pickle on the nose...for me, it was more Olive. Very red in the glass compared to the inky dark Syrahs that Napa puts out. Again, I wasn't able to stick around to do this justice, but this has a long life ahead. Very crisp acidity on the palate with loads of raspberries and rhubarb. Light on the front and mid palate, but super long finish and strong tannic backbone. A very cool wine. — 8 years ago
2012 Leah Jorgensen 'Flat Track' #CabernetFranc #Oregonwine @ljcpirateprincess Lush, pure fruit with underlying herbal tones. Cherry cola, wild berry, pomegranate. Earl gray, baking spices. Soft silky and fresh. #wine #sommelier #sommlife — 9 years ago
Pic #2. 2018 Teutonic Wine Company “Seafoam” Oregon. Pinot-based rosé wine with a pale salmon hue, and lively notes of plum, apricot, and peach, balanced with moderate acidity to lend structure on the palate. Paired with a lovely hiramasa crudo bathed in a plum aguachile, with kohlrabi, fresh plum, and celery. #teutonicwinecompany #oregonwine #rosewine — 5 years ago
Sass is always one of my favorites for the price but I hadn't tried this vintage yet. As always, the fruit is ultra bright and expressive. There's no doubt about it, this has that natural wine vibe to it. Slight VA makes the aroma explode out of the glass... raspberry, blackberry and sour cherry. It's very lifted and lively. Slightly hot and the fruit is maybe a touch astringent. Structurally, this wine lacks delineation but it's delicious anyways. It's a different take and a more honest wine than most in the price bracket. Last time I talked to Jerry Sass he told me he was using less and less so2. Very cool.

Visiting Oregon this weekend so I'm excited to try out some local wines. I found this Lorane valley Pinot and tried it out. Black cherry, cedar and baking spices. Very tart and light tannins. I'm excited to check out some more Oregon wines! #oregonwine #pinotnoir #kingestate — 8 years ago
At first opening there seemed to be no life. 2 hours later the nose was buzzing with mature and ripe red fruit and a touch of a tomato paste quality that was slightly intoxicating. Unfortunately the palate was lost though. #oregonwine #pinotnoir #domainedrouhin — 9 years ago

Complex nose with earthy mushroom, black plum and raspberry, some mixed tobacco and cola nut. Cedar and dried raspberry, trumpet mushroom, smoky blackberries, and a wound up chicory and coffee. Brimming with goodness.
