Deep ruby hue. Strong extraction, heavy tearing. Dusty earth, herbal, and black fruit notes on the nose. Fresh blackberries, black cherry jam, ripe plums, and dried figs. 2007 Gigondas from certified bio dynamic winemaker Montirius is a blend of 80% Grenache and 20% Mourvèdre. From bones planted in 1925 this medium body red shows delivers lots of red fruit, dried herbs, pepper with a dusty earthiness in the mouth. This wine spent no time in oak at all and seems to be at its peak now. Decent bottle at $24.95.
