Escherndorf Am Lumpen GG Silvaner 2016

Vintage 2016 | a meadow in spring. Beautiful yellow colour. Honey melon, Turkish delight in smell, apricots as well. Vibrant fresh taste, I love Franken Silvaner. Paired with shrimps. — 4 days ago

Dom Pérignon

Brut Champagne Blend 2008

I am not sure Dom is my jam. The overt amount of fruit and yeasty bread is a little too intense for me. — 6 months ago

Stagård

Stein a.d. Donau Handwerk Riesling 2018

Opening bottle for a special night out, paired with a modern Korean tasting menu. Color is a knockout goldenrod, with the bottle age bringing a rounded, textured mouthfeel really matching the raw fish, Unami notes, & intricate textures of the first 2/3 of the menu. Dried apple, sulfured apricot, & celery notes. Elegant & pretty long. While dry really approximates an aged German Reisling, with such a plump, yet refined acid backbone. — 7 months ago

Am Schwarzen Herrgott Großes Gewächs Riesling 2011

Outstanding! More minerality and longer in the palate then the Kühling-Gillot. Curious to drink it young once! — 5 months ago

Trocken Spätburgunder 2015

Electric on the nose!
Palate of plums, ripe cherries, subtle purple flowers, and tertiary characteristics of earth.
Very interesting! It almost tastes French!
I can’t wait to try more

GG Am Buhl Grauer Burgunder 2020

Lyle Fass
9.5

I love this wine but I’ll admit it’s niche. Glorious confectionary nose. Clearly too young, as this wine really sings starting at 10, but whatever, I got too much wine to drink them all at the perfect time. Sweet wood, stone fruits and intense minerality. Some pollen as well on the nose. Such a complex nose. But in 5 years watch out! Palate is so elegant and rich but fresh from the minerals and not the acid which is merely solid. Really coats the tongue. So good. The finish is stone fruits, sweet wood and that rock licking feeling on your tongue. Just a killer Grau because it’s got that Laible magic. — 7 months ago
