2022 vintage. Cantemerle is always about elegance, and this exceptional vintage is no exception. Cassis, blackberries, subtle floral hints, and very delicate oak. Exemplary purity of fruit, velvety tannins and serious length. Hard to resist young, but this should age effortlessly for a few decades. The best Cantemerle I have ever tasted, and incredible value too. Abv. 13,5%. — 7 days ago
2022 vintage. Château Arnaud, Saint-Estephe. Decent Petit Bordeaux. Not what you expect from a Saint-Estèphe in a great year, but then the price was low too (11.90 euro). — 11 days ago
2022 vintage. A blend of 52% Cabernet Sauvignon, 45% Merlot and 3% Petit Verdot. This biodynamic estate goes from strength to strength in the capable hands of Caroline Frey. In this exceptional vintage La Lagune honours its reputation as the finest wine in the Haut-Médoc appellation. Black fruit, flowers, cedar and subtle spices. A thick mouth feel, with layers of succulent fruit, spices, and a powerful structure of what might be the most velvety tannins ever for this estate. As usual it displays that unique aromatic and elegant character that I describe as somewhere between Margaux and Pessac-Léognan. Impressive depth and length. A strong contender for the title of best La Lagune ever. — 4 days ago
2019 vintage. Last harvest for the Halabi family, as they sold the property in December 2019 to Tristan Le Lous (Urgo), with José Sanfins staying in place, ensuring a smooth transition. Black fruit and flowers, depth and elegance, very pure and fresh. Solid ripe tannic structure and great length. Ab. 13,5%. — 11 days ago
2020. La Closerie de Camensac, the second wine. Charmless and drying. Diam cork again. — 11 days ago
2022 vintage. First vintage under Lorenzetti ownership. Oak dominating initially, needs a few hours to open up. Concentrated black fruit with serious oak influence. Lots of potential, but doesn't have the charm of the 2020 today. Ab. 14,,5% — 4 days ago
2019 vintage. A totally different style compared to the more classic 2019 Cantenac Brown, but every bit as good. A more flashy, opulent style, flirting with overripeness, but every bit as good. — 6 days ago
2022 vintage. A serious contender for the best Lynch-Moussas ever produced, together with the 2019. A blend of 74% Cabernet Sauvignon and 26% Merlot. — 11 days ago

2022 vintage. A blend of 53% Merlot, 36% Cabernet Sauvignon and 11% Petit Verdot. As Siran is consistently of Cry Classé quality, I've put the bar high, tasting it next to the 2022 La Lagune. While it doesn't have the depth and quality of tannins of the latter Siran 2022 is an impressive effort, a classic Margaux in the same league as the magnificent 2019 Siran. — 3 days ago
