2016 vintage. 55% Cabernet Sauvignon and 45% Merlot. The oak seems a bit more toasted compared to the 2015, with the red and black fruit lurking behind initially, give it some time to open up. Juicy, very ripe fruit with a thicker mouthfeel and more power than the 2015. Dark chocolate in the finish. Abv. 13,5%. — a month ago
2009 vintage. 58% Merlot and 42% Cabernet Sauvignon. One of the best wines I've tasted from this estate. Concentrated, ripe, elegant and with good length. As usual great value. — a month ago
2022 vintage. 82% Merlot, 14% Cabernet Franc, and 4% Petit Verdot. A legend in the making. I love these wines. Couvent des Jacobins has never given in to the fashion of the day, always crafting classic, profound, elegant and long-lived wines. The 2022 might well be the finest ever! Attractive nose with red and black fruit and subtle violet. Succulent, layered fruit, with impeccable purity, silky tannins, freshness and impressive length. This is Premier Grand Cru level! Enjoy over the next 40 years. Abv. 14,5%. — 4 days ago
2022 vintage. Very reliable and great value. — a month ago
2015 vintage. 75% Cabernet Sauvignon and 35% Merlot. This could be mistaken for Cantemerle in a blind tasting (that's a compliment btw). Classic Haut-Médoc with cassis, cedar and licorice. Drinking beautifully now, fresh and juicy. Great value. Abv. 13,5%. — a month ago
2011 vintage. 56% Merlot and 44% Cabernet Sauvignon. A very good effort in this much maligned vintage. Smooth, fresh and spicy, not particularly complex but an attractive, fully mature Haut-Médoc. Abv. 14. — a month ago
2021 vintage. From the original 2 acre parcel. Intoxicating, very concentrated, with layers of black fruits, and subtle spices, embedded in a silky tannic structure. It is also very elegant and fresh, everything falls into place. Extraordinary finish. Kudos to winemaker Helen Keplinger. — 16 days ago
1984 vintage. Unbelievably good. Never heard of this estate, but this is delicious at age 41 in one of the worst Bordeaux vintages! Moreover, I tasted a bottle that was opened the day before. This makes me want to check the current production of this estate. — a month ago
2008 vintage. An unusually high percentage of Merlot (70%), with 30% Cabernet Sauvignon. Needs time to open up. More powerful compared to the 2011, but the tannins have some rough edges. I prefer the charm of the lighter and smoother 2011. Abv. 13%. — a month ago

2022 vintage. This large estate is co-owner by Castel and Suntory (the group also owns Beychevelle), and this 2022 represents great value for money. 65% Cabernet Sauvignon, 30% Merlot, and 5% Petit Verdot. Compared to the Castel-owned Barreyres tasted alongside, Beaumont features a more black fruit personality, with more concentration and complexity, for only 1 euro more. Terrific value. — 2 days ago
