Rattlesnake Rock Syrah 2018

Everybody seems to have glowing opinions of this, but mine was just a good wine and all the complexity in depth that I’m hearing about here I just didn’t get. A very good balance of strong flavors drank it across three days, dark pepper, and tobacco notes and ripe fruit and I will say without any overwhelming attendance. The structure was just incredible. Very good wine, maybe I’m just different than the other reviewers. — 15 days ago

Tensley

Colson Canyon Vineyard Syrah 2008

Rich red fruits, despite the 15% ABV, this smells and tastes like a cool climate Syrah (my vague recollection was that 2008 was a cooler year, though this vineyard usually produces the ripest and most high-octane Syrah in the Tensley stable), nice balance, lingering finish, very fine!’ — 2 months ago

Great, thanks a lot for the feedback!!! I will check for the other references but I must admit that US wines are not that much available in Belgium. However, Ravenswood is sold at my local wineshop though

@Anthony De Blasi, you say Ravenswood is sold at your local shop (and I apologize last night for not realizing you’re in Belgium) — note that the really inexpensive Ravenswood Zin is just so-so, try one of the single vineyard to get a better feel.

Absolutely delicious other than a developing clove note throwing me off a little. Nose and palate were phenomenal right out of the bottle. — 2 months ago

Chimney Rock

Stags Leap District Cabernet Sauvignon 2019

Blend of mostly Cabernet Sauvignon, with splashes of Cabernet Franc, Merlot, Petit Verdot and Malbec all SLD estate fruit, deep Ruby with aromas of dark berry fruits, oak and sweet spice. On the palate flavors of blackberry, cherry and currants with tobacco and herb spice. Fine smooth tannins, approachable, long finish ending with fruit, oak, spice and herb mineral character. Nice! — 4 months ago

Todos Ballard Canyon Red Bordeaux Blend 2019

Great blend with literally the kitchen sink of varietals (10!). Haven’t had their more pricy cuvées but if this is any indication, they knock it out of the park! Side note, gorgeous tasting room. @Ryan Colthorp came visit for a wine trip! — 4 months ago
