Candied cherry, tobacco, oak, cedar, tar, plum, clove, and black pepper. A big, dark, sultry merlot. Full body, medium plus tannins, high acid, high alcohol, and medium plus finish. — a month ago
Floral bomb on the nose. Ripe apricot, honeysuckle, lavender, and minerals on the palate with a hint of petrol. Medium bodied, medium alcohol, medium acid, and medium plus finish. — 2 months ago
Grapefruit, lemon, pineapple, oak, kiwi fruit, and flint. Medium alcohol, medium plus acid, light bodied white with a medium finish. Less reductive than the 2021. This is a very pleasant and refreshing white that would be a good summer sipper and match with white fish or salads. — 15 days ago
Lots of tart red fruit, oak, cedar, tar, and pencil lead. Medium plus body, high tannins, high acid, high alcohol, and medium plus finish. Some tertiary notes, so drink now. Also recommend decanting (I know, a bit of a contradiction there). Reminds me a bit of an Argentina Malbec on steroids. — a month ago
Plum, pencil lead, cinnamon, clove, cooked blueberries, rhubarb pie, oak, cedar, with some tertiary notes of raisins and mushrooms. High tannins, medium plus acid, medium plus finish, and high alcohol. If you like bright fruity wines, this isn’t it. Rather, it is an interesting rustic wine that I’d pair with Italian sausage, pot roast, and smoked ribs. Drink now. I don’t think it would benefit from aging. — 2 months ago
Cranberry, heavy French oak, dark cherry, pomegranate, cinnamon, clove, tobacco, and cedar. Medium plus tannin, high acid, high alcohol, and medium finish. — 17 days ago
Tart strawberry bomb. Reminds me of a beaujolais, and probably some carbonic maceration going on. High acid, medium alcohol, and medium finish. — a month ago
Big cherry nose. More cherry on the palate with tart raspberry, pomegranate, and oak. Some tertiary fruit notes at this stage for this 2015, so drink now. Medium alcohol, medium body, medium minus tannins, high acid, medium plus finish. — 2 months ago
Lime, lemon, green apple, grapefruit, white pepper, lemon grass, oak, cedar, and chalky minerals. High acid, medium alcohol, medium light body, and long finish. — 2 months ago

Interestingly I had this wine with a bottle of 2019 Saint Josephs from Domaine Remizieres. The Mesa Del Sol was a bit more oxidized with a bit more acid, and the Rhone wine was a bit more complex, but they were very difficult to otherwise distinguish. Good job. — 10 days ago
