Mint chocolate dominated nose the whole time. Also reminded me of a Hopjes (little Dutch candy) — 4 months ago
Much softer than the 05 … still fairly primary but much nicer to drink today — 4 months ago
The 2022 Moscato d'Asti Scrapona is dusty and floral, with a surprisingly savory burst of wildflowers and ground ginger, complicating freshly sliced nectarine. It’s silky smooth, verging on creamy, with masses of ripe peach and minty herbs within. This finishes with a cascade of tropical citrus and florals, leaving the mouth watering for more. Belated post from Mother’s Day dinner. This was in full splendor at 20 years old. It was ready and had many secondary notes intertwined with primary flavors of rose petals, leather, wood shavings, yes the tar was there but not as pronounced as I have found in younger Barolos from Conterno. A gem found in the cellar that I’m glad I didn’t wait another day to open. — 10 days ago
