2 hour decant(little fine sediment). A splendid dark magenta with some bricking. On the nose: subdued but enticing notes of blackberry, cassis, cigar wrapper, clove, pine, maybe a touch of brett. Taste: silky, still youthful at 20 wine with blackberry, red fruit, graphite, spice, and a medium smokey licorice tar finish. YUM..good but expecting more for the year..will wait a few years for next attempt. — 13 days ago

This one, on the other hand, did smack me in the face with a surprising streak of lean almost metallic minerals cutting through. — 3 months ago
Pale lemon color with aromas of citrus, stone fruits and floral notes. On the palate flavors of apple, peach and lemon citrus with notes of white flowers and spice. Medium+ finish, vivid acidity, nice balance ending with citrus and flinty mineral character. Will age a bit. — 15 days ago
So I started my wine collecting thing (obsession) around 8-9 years ago. This was among the first wines I bought and they have been sitting in my cellar since. I opened a bottle of this a couple of years ago and today the second one. The first bottle was obviously good quality then, but the wine was still too young: nervous and steely (chablis!). I find it beautiful to see that the first bottles are now coming around into their drinking window.
So this has fleshed out considerably and just entering it's drinking window. A rich creamy texture surrounded by lime, yellow flowers and oyster shell. Enough acidity to support the whole thing. Balanced. — a month ago
Muted nose. Honey, apricot, and butter. Buttery, fully coating the palate. Heavy finish. — 3 months ago
Way too young! — 23 days ago
Medium ruby garnet terracotta rim, slightly wider than the Lynch. This is cooler and slightly sterner in character than the Lynch. More mineral , with ash , cedar and grafite in character , cassis , blackberry , dark cherry fruits. On the palate this is denser with more tannin , and balanced acidity . Grafite , cassis , herbal cedar , menthol touch . Long fresh but densely fruited, grafite finish . This is younger and more serious than the Lynch, more austere . Probably deserves a little time in decanter, though this is probably in the middle of its drinking window . Certainly no rush here , can go on well for the next 10 if not more years . This shows a really good mix of St Estephe austerity , seriousness and the ripeness and generosity of 1990. A great bottle , showing very well. — 9 days ago

It is time for my #FridayCabernetfix.
Dark ruby in color with a wide reddish rim.
Nose of red fruits with wild flowers, tobacco, eucalyptus, light earth, licorice, light oak, spices and herbs.
Medium plus in body and elegant, with medium acidity and long legs.
Dry on the palate with red cherries, currants, plums, licorice, light oak, spices, chocolates, red candy, tobacco leaf, light earth, herbs and light black tea.
Tangy finish with fine grained tannins and tangy raspberries.
This delicious Cabernet Sauvignon from Napa Valley is still very young and needs some bottle time to mature properly, but already drinking beautifully.
Rich, yet elegant. Fruit forward, Nicely balanced and easy drinking. Spicy and entertaining.
Will continue to age nicely in the next 10 to 15 years. Showing good potential to become a 94 point wine.
Showing lots of red fruits, especially on the nose, which surprised me a bit. A different style of Napa Cabernet, and very unique.
Needed 3 hours in the decanter to open up. Complex and engaging.
A good sipping wine that will pair nicely with food too.
100% Cabernet Sauvignon grapes were aged for 30 months in (80% new) French Oak barrels. A small production of 7,200 bottles.
