July 4th Friday was a total blowout! Killer bottles one after another. Here are just a few of the bottles we all enjoyed!
I think this could have been even better if this was served at the right temperature as it was pretty warm (room temp) when opened. Muddled red fruits, tobacco, and cedar at first before the fruit turned tart/youthful adding some cassis and clay. — 5 years ago
Presented to me double-blind at Tasting Group. The wine is a deep garnet color a near opaque core and some significant rim variation; medium+ viscosity with moderate staining of the tears and some signs of sediment. On the nose, the wine is vinous and showing some signs of maturity. There are fascinating notes of tart, ripe and dessicated black and red fruits: blackberries, black currants, tart red cherry, accompanied by some tobacco, cigar box, green bell pepper, some leather and beautiful baking spices. It smells like money (expensive, lavish oak treatment). On the palate, the wine is dry with medium+ tannins (well integrated) and medium+ acid. Confirming the notes from the nose with some coffee and cocoa also showing up to the party. The finish seems to go on forever. This is a very balanced wine in a very fun spot.
Initial conclusion: this could be a Cabernet Sauvignon or Cabernet Sauvignon-based blend, a Tempranillo or Sangiovese-based blend from the United States, France, Spain or Italy with 25+ years of age. However, the fruit was kinda the star of the show so, final conclusion: this is a Cabernet Sauvignon-based wine from the United States, from California, from Napa; vintage 1990. Ha!! 1992 Bryant Family!? Suhhhhweet! This is in the zone. Drink now through 2032. — 6 months ago
8/21 Just a beautiful 1992 wine that was soft but still had fruit and structure. 92. — 3 years ago
Very smokey and Oakey cab, cherry as well, 1992, could drink this all night — 5 years ago
1/2 hour decant (decent chunky/fine sediment). An amazing still dark garnet with decent bricking. On the nose: some dark cherry, old worn leather, sweet mint, smoked meat, potpourri. Taste: soft, creamy, elegant, silky sweet tannins caress the palate with a little dark cherry, damp earth, herbal, and a spiced red plum pencil lead dry finish. A nice example of aged Napa cab. YUM. — 3 years ago
Tasted blind. Medium gold. Rich, “wow” nose... has a noticeable power that is a step above the other whites tonight. Lots of lemon and citrus, some gravel stone and dirt, tan spice, white acacia flowers. Later some creme brûlée thing pops in. The experience goes on and on for hours. Has an amazing level of balance... fruit, richness, complexity and structure. Again shows us this is an all time white. We all nailed our guess on this beauty by the process of deduction and the obvious quality of this amazing, in great condition juice. — 4 years ago

Enjoyed alongside some other Napa legends from the 80’s and 90’s. This was stunning and to my palate, on this night, seemed to show the best of the Napa flight. The 1992 shows classic Dunn Howell with ample dark and red fruits, tobacco, earth, leather and fine baking spices. Stout structure. Everything in beautiful balance. Drink now with unmitigated glee and through 2042 because just like Barry, this has Staying Power. — a month ago
