92' Caymus Special Selection. Each wine tells a story .
After reading about it in Wine Spectator, in 1995/6, I scraped together some money and purchased a single bottle. This particular one has traveled with me through two apartments, one condominium, and now two homes. I've gotten married and have had two beautiful kids, since purchasing this wine.
I pulled the capsule off this about 15 years ago with the intent of drinking it with a good friend. Going through my cellar this morning looking for a few bottles to stand up for dinner tonight, I pulled this bottle out...the fill was at the bottom of the neck...needs to be consumed. Sometimes you just need to let go.
Wine- Cork was destroyed. It's surprisingly still all there. Drinking wonderfully now. It needed 10 minutes to open. Cheers everyone!

A power house with a lot of (perfect intigrated) wood. Still super young. Very, very good.

A beautiful true garnet in color with some definite bricking. The nose initially fills the senses with tart dark cherry and cassis, barn yard funk, smoked meat and green veggie followed by secondary notes of pepper, worn leather and chocolate cherry. A bomb of cherry fruit hits the palate. WOW! Smooth, luscious and elegant. Tannins are well blended and notes of spice wet earth, plum, pencil lead and dark coffee bean complete it’s long dry finish. Look forward to seeing how it holds up over the next few hours with more secondary coming out.

1/2 hour decant (decent chunky/fine sediment). An amazing still dark garnet with decent bricking. On the nose: some dark cherry, old worn leather, sweet mint, smoked meat, potpourri. Taste: soft, creamy, elegant, silky sweet tannins caress the palate with a little dark cherry, damp earth, herbal, and a spiced red plum pencil lead dry finish. A nice example of aged Napa cab. YUM.

Drinkable, but barely. Do not drink after anything from Harbinger! We drank 27 years after bottling, so I’m sure that didn’t help, but tons of sediment, poor color and nose, and mediocre taste
