Popped and poured; enjoyed over the course of an hour. The 2013 pours a deep, slightly hazy ruby color with a translucent core; medium viscosity with no staining of the tears. On the nose, the wine is developing with beautiful notes of strawberry, raspberry, dried roses, sous bois, licorice, dried green herbs, gentle warm spices and limestone minerals. On the palate, the wine is dry with medium+ tannin and medium+ acid. Confirming the notes from the nose. The finish is medium+ and full of rustic character. In general, the 2013 vintage in Burgundy is on fire right now. And as far as Domaine de l’Arlot is concerned, I adore these wines and wish I could drink them more often. On the palate, the wine is dry with medium+ tannin and medium+ acid. Confirming the notes from the nose. The finish is long. Despite the power of the vintage, this is impressively balanced and only seemed to gain energy as time went on. Drink now with patience through 2059. — 12 days ago

Opened just prior to dinner. The 2008 Coteau de Vernon pours a deep straw color with medium viscosity. On the nose, the wine is developing with notes of peach cup with the pears and cherry too. There’s white flowers, honey, fresh mint and other herbs too. Wow! On the palate, the wine is dry with medium+ acid. Confirming the notes from the nose. The finish is long and oily.
