Château Saint Cyrgues

Au Pied du Mont Chauve

Cuvée D Le Charmois Saint Aubin 1er Cru Pinot Noir 2014

This is a nice surprise. A nice Pinot Noir from Burgundy.

Dry on the palate with cherries, red currants, raspberries, light oak, spices, chocolates, peppercorn, vegetables, herbs, graphite, earth, leather and light barnyard.

Medium plus in body with medium plus acidity.

Nice length on the finish with spices and raspberries and fine grained tannins.

Needs a couple of hours to open up properly, and show the tannins and structure.

Thank you Wendy for sharing this with us.

Wine Enthusiasts 92 points.

This 6 year old is still young, and would be better in 5 years.

Better with food than just by itself, right now. Tangy and a little hot at the back of the throat. Spicy with a nice mouthfeel.

13.5% alcohol by volume.

89 points.

Saint-Julien Red Bordeaux Blend 2009

Happy Thanksgiving to those celebrating the holiday! Enjoying some lovely wine with an unconventional meal of filet mignon to go with an unconventional year to say the least.
👁 This wine is medium ruby.
👃 It has medium(+) intensity in aromas that are developing. The aromas include primary notes of ripe black cherry, red cassis, prune, violet, licorice, and secondary notes of vanilla, cedar, nutmeg, clove, and tertiary notes of forest floor, leather, dried prune and fig.
👄 On the palate this wine is dry, it has medium (+) acidity, a full body, medium alcohol, chewy tannins, and medium intensity in flavors consistent with the nose which include primary notes of ripe black cherry, red cassis, prune, violet, licorice, and secondary notes of vanilla, cedar, nutmeg, clove, and tertiary notes of forest floor, leather, dried prune and fig. The finish is medium (+).
This is a very good wine that has some bottle age and may be consumed now but also has potential for further aging.

Domaine Dujac

Morey Saint Denis Pinot Noir 2017

Flowery on the nose, slightly earthy but dominating red fruit and a touch oaky. The palate is pretty nice, medium bodied with nice dosage of acidity and fine grained tannins, the finale is nice with red fruit and a touch though of dryness. Pretty good despite the youth, preferred the 2016 and 2014 drank recently, but very glad to have many bottles in the cellar that will sit a few years. 90-91 for now.

A little bit fuller bodied than I anticipated but I felt that was a good quality. It’s not rich necessarily but it has some oomph. — 3 days ago

Les Pitangerets Saint-Aubin 1er Cru Chardonnay 2016

Great bottle well worth the asking price that is not cheap for a St-Aubin. White orchard fruit, minerlitity and a touch of roundness, fresh and classy, elegant and so well balanced. The bottle emptied itself in a flash. Great stuff.

Quel délice. Fruits blancs, fraîcheur, minéralité, une touche de richesse, quelle classe et élégance aussi, très équilibré et savoureux, la bouteille s’est vidée en le temps de le dire. 91-92

Saint-Romain Pinot Noir 2018

This 2018 shows again the great value these wines have from Alain Gras. Such a nice bottle of fruity, balanced and delicious Pinot that ends with a slightly tangy and sappy delicious finish. 90

Un beau 2018 qui démontre encore la qualité des vins de Alain Gras pour le prix. Un vin équilibré avec une finale salivante sur les petits fruits rouges légèrement acidulés. Très bien.

Offerus Saint-Joseph Syrah 2017

Quite nice. Dark fruits. More accessible - even with limited air - than I expected. Still a good bit of freshness / refreshing acidity. At $26 a good value. Tasty. — 7 days ago

Saint-Aubin Chardonnay 2018

Thanksgiving 2020; a quiet day with just my wife and the kitties, hopefully 2021 brings family and dear friends back for group enjoyment of this Holiday.

Nose has under-ripe pineapple, ripe pineapple, warm lemon slice, wet flint, light oak/vanilla and lemongrass.

Palate has cooked lemon slice, crushed flint, wet sandstone and pineapple core with a medium finish.

An infant for sure (current release), but made for a solid pairing to a Thanksgiving meal, it worked great with all the flavor diversity on our plates. Oh man, 2018 Burgundy is going to be wonderful.

Hommage à "Marguerite" Saint-Aubin 1er Cru Chardonnay 2018

Lithe and delicate. Subtle fruit aromas/flavors of lemon, pear, underripe white peach. Perhaps some quiet jasmine notes as well. Winemaking technique certainly dominates with notes of sulphur compounds in addition to perceived SO2 on the nose and palate (knocking it down a peg in my opinion). Struck flint, crushed stones and gun smoke under deft barrel notes. Very refreshing however, quite lovely with more and more aeration. — 12 days ago

Saint-Joseph Syrah 2017

Just received, pop and pour just to taste one, rich, lush and powerful, with time in the glass and a harsh decant, it opens beautifully to aromas of Syrah such as pepper, violets and that incredible floral scent, very nice even if way too young and with the oak that is a little too present for now. 91-92 for the potential
