A nose that is reminiscent of a sunrise at a farm. Wet hay drying.

Raspberry, persimmon, borscht, herbs that err to the side of citrus like, medium bodied and bright mouthful of a great vintage, and a well made wine. The oak well integrated, though could use another year or two. A toast to MLK today.

I know that most of you are probably freezing right now, but here, in sunny Florida, it's gorgeous, So I have to take the opportunity, and enjoy it...

Beautiful purple in color with medium intensity and a light purplish rim.

Nice nose of red berries, blueberries, strawberries, sweet raspberries, earth, forest floor, red candy, graphite, metals, leather, oak, light vanilla, light bell pepper and peppercorn.

Medium to full bodied with medium plus acidity and long legs.

Dry and earthy on the palate with blackberries, cherries, plums, earth, bitter herbs, Pine, toasted oak, leather and peppercorn.

Long finish with firm tannins and tart raspberries.

This is a very easy drinking CDR. Well-balanced with nice complexity and good acidity with firm tannins. Great right out of the bottle.

After an hour in a decanter, it opens up and becomes more complex and interesting, with big tannins . Not one to age, drink it while it's fresh.

I paired it with a cheese plate and a gorgeous Florida weather.

14% alcohol by volume.

While I defer to @"Odedi" 's tasting notes as a great reference on this quality effort, I'll add my color commentary on this pretty yet forceful young star. Coming in at #43 on WS Top 100, the appeal here is that it's 100% Syrah, unusual for Southern Rhone, esp. a Cotes du Rhone designation. The meaty, earthy, dark fruit notes really sing upon decanting, while the attack to finish smooth out nicely. Still somewhat untamed and rough around the edges, but in a good way. At this price point ($12), QPR is off the charts.

At Mustard's Grill with swordfish tostada. Wonderful blackberry fruit and white pepper with limestone and clay finish. One of the finest Southern Rhone producers out there!

From magnum. This is really in a great place and drinking beautifully. Nice weight, length, and balance. One of the best QPR CDR’s you can get IMO and from a great producer.

Blueberry and crushed stone dominate. The metallic finish is a little off putting. A WS Top 100. For $12 it’s a good buy but think it’s overrated. Not impressed. Maybe it’s me.
