Château Léoville Poyferré
Saint Julien Red Bordeaux Blend

Parker rated 100 & I agree. It's right up his alley. Big, lush with a richness that I haven't seen in other vintages. A fabulous nose and extraordinarily long finish. Minute++. The only reason that I did not give it a 10 is its youth. It will definitely evolve over the next 10 years. I am so happy to have uncorked this now to see where it is in its evolution. Stunning., simply stunning. 💯🍷🍷💯.
Highly recommend it!

This needs time to evolve. It's wonderful and has a perfect potential, but requires further integration.
375ml format.

Feb 22nd, 2016Tasting 2009 clarets with tasting group last night. No one guessed claret for any of them. Very little fruit in any, rustic, on the boozy side. This was my favorite. V. dark, smoke, forest floor, garrigue. Opened with air.

Too young. Can't wait to give it a go after more time in bottle

Sep 23rd, 2014Been 2.5 years since I last tasted and was BLOWN AWAY by its multitude of offerings ~ this BEHEMOTH is harder to discern now ~ it delivers a BIG blow but with blinders on ~ and after 4 hours it shuts down ~ hold off pulling corks for a while!
Note: tasted 3 bottles all showing like this

Re-corked after being opened 5 days ago. The wine was untouched, so I said a small prayer and hoped that this would hold up - it did, but obviously, not completely.
Because of this, I decline to rate it, but still, the primary notes, texture, tannins and acidity are still present, and vibrant. I'm really enjoying this tonight. Thanks @Martin G Rivard for sharing this brilliant Bdx. As with my previous note, I feel this is too young to approach at this point. I would leave this for at least another 5 years.

Young, inexperience and lots of potential. 10 years more should do the work.
