I opened this wine casually after receiving it from my former line manager as a Christmas present. I should maybe have made some research about it. It's not yet another Mosel riesling, it's a delicious, complex, soulful wine, with a tiny bit of age on it.
It bears a straw color with a golden hue, which is very different and much darker from recent kabinet I had in recent vintages. The nose shows first some petroly notes, that are quite strong and taking the stage by storm. After some air, tangerine, lemon and yuzu notes come in, it's very exciting. Some flowery notes pop out too. Wow!
The palate shows some acid drive, but it's not a laser beam acid drive, it's just one element of the whole palate experience. There is some nice width, some stewed tangerine notes, almost a sweet, buttery mouthfeel that tells me there could be some slight oxydation going on, before an elegant, tangerine finish. No lemon peel to speak of and no bitterness whatsoever. It's extremely easy to drink and very elegant. A whole new riesling experience 👍🏻 — 3 years ago
Popped and poured; no formal notes. As a long-time admirer of Laurence's Cuvée Réservée Rouge, this was my first time trying her Blanc. Admittedly, I have often struggled with white wines from the Rhône as they too often lack the acid I want. This is partly why I haven't made it a priority. However, I've had some very impressionable moments with well-aged Hermitage Blanc so I have remained open minded. Which leads me to this bottle of 2021 Cuvée Reservée Blanc; a blend of mostly Clairette with some Grenache blanc, Bourboulenc and a touch of Roussanne. From the very first smell, I was convinced that I had been clearly missing out. Beautifully perfumed with white flowers, cantaloupe, apricot and just a little citrus. This was so fresh, so sexy. It was equally sexy on the palate where all the notes were packaged in the most delightfully silky texture. The finish was long. It should be noted that we paired with rainbow trout, zucchini, summer squash topped with yuzu tobiko. This pairing slapped. Based off this experience, I would drink these now. That's not to say that they will be undrinkable with a few more years of age but I guess, why wait? The freshness is awesome and super compelling right now. — 3 years ago
Worth the wait. Hints of yuzu and chamomile — 5 years ago
Served with an English Pea "gnudi" (see the Vespertine summer menu for more info). On the nose: lovely grass and gooseberry, sweet pea (brought out by the pairing), grapefruit. On the palate, fantastic acidity, gooseberry, tarragon, sweet apple, yuzu, kumquat and a lovely tangy finish. — 6 years ago
Very interesting and unusual. Not your typical beer, but enjoyable. — 7 years ago

Could of bought some screaming eagle for the price of those stairs,Well if you live in San Diego. The only ‚real’ place to get your Burgh fix in San Diego is at the Meritage Wine Market in Encinitas. They know because they will try these. This bottle was not priced yet they asked me to sample it. Super elegant and perfectly balanced. Young, very coiled. The power is there but hiding. Yuzu, pear, hint herabceous, jasmine, chalk. Will be >100$ for sure. This producer just knocks it out of the park for both the whites and reds. — 10 months ago
Solid when PNP. When I came back to it later I found it overly sweet. — 3 years ago
Very interesting sake. Tastes like lemonade. — 6 years ago
Fantastic food wine. Paired with uni, oysters, spice-rubbed pork chop, hamachi crudo with persimmon*. Balanced. A surprising smorgasbord of aromas + flavors for its age and price: jasmine, yuzu, apricot, lychee, persimmon, white pepper and even a slight petrol note. Luxurious and on the fatter side but the pork liked that. Lindsey and I give it two thumbs up.

No notes. Casual pour in front of the champions league final (football / soccer). Very clear nose of white peach, lemon peel, yuzu. The palate is tangy, fruity, zesty, fresh and delicious. Good soft mouthfeel, with a zing in the rear and a tiny bitter, salty touch. It's a simple and delicious and a superb summer sipper. — a year ago
Rich style from a vintage made for whites! Champagne beurre Blanc, grilled pineapple, lemon panna cotta, brioche soaked in olive oil, magnolia, honeysuckle, yuzu, mirin, and noshi pear give it a Japanese aspect; ginkgo follows mold. Creamy mouthfeel kept honest by nice acid and lime padding with pith the pile lining. Lemon oil, lemon panna cotta and beurre blanc soaked brioche complete the picture from a stellar wine!

Baked cut grass. Umami. Yuzu. Balanced and drinkable. — 4 years ago
Not lemon custard in a bottle but yuzu custard (attention hip pastry chefs I think I just discovered the next big thing) in a slim bottle.
Cloudy, natural, refreshing with depth and citrus spice.
It has a bizarre aroma that I can't quite place- green papaya sprinkled with an Indian cooking spice but which one is it?
This is definitely a buy again wine.

Obviously good, up my alley, just not standout. — 6 years ago
Elegant, classy champagne hue like I’m at a gala, but, let’s be real, it’s probably a B-list affair.
Asian pear, chalky, lemon pepper essence, no joke.
Excellent carbonation. Reserved, fine bubbles.
Definitely getting the asian pear, but also a slight undertone of licorice, and then finally some nice sweetness and acidity reminiscent of yuzu.
Wonderfully complex and fun to drink like a stimulating chess game is fun to play. I can’t stop, this one might become a go-to. — 6 years ago
Correct spelling: Sawanotsuru 'Zuicho' Junmai Daiginjo Sake Very floral at first. With sweeter foods it became tart with a nice almost minerally bitter edge. Then over the course of dinner began to notice a citrus edge to the finish, almost a lime note. However after a Yuzu sorbet the sake took on a vanilla and grain flavour. Very interesting to sip. — 7 years ago
