L'Hermitage Blanc Marsanne Roussanne 2013

Tasted alongside the 1996 and while this was very good, it was also very primary. However, thanks to the 1996, it was very easy to tell where the 2013 is headed. If you have these, I highly recommend you hold for at least another 10 years so it can begin showing more secondary characteristics. — 9 days ago

Mon Coeur Côtes du Rhône Red Rhone Blend 2020

8/2022. Had a 2015 a few years ago. Not as good as this 2020. Bold and full of flavor. Nice finish. Paired well with the stone crab claws and the BLT “pizza” with white chess sauce at Black Rooster.

Hermitage Blanc Marsanne Roussanne 1996

Tasted alongside the 2013 and this was absolutely extraordinary. Tremendous depth. This is what I’ve always wanted out of white Rhône wines and of course, it took a well aged Chave to deliver. — 9 days ago

Clos Florentin Saint-Joseph Syrah 2017

Off the charts good, textbook classic Syrah made in a clean and almost too perfect way. Where are the faults? Kidding aside this is about as good as anything I have had from St. Jo from Gonon or anyone else. All the classic notes of black pepper, roasted meats, bacon fat, olive, the hole package...the nose is very pronounced and the palate has freshness to the generosity, a super long finish and a very fun and enjoyable bottle! — a month ago

Impressive Tom. I rarely find Cornas and StJ syrahs that I truly enjoy. Have to get my hands on this!

L'Hermitage Syrah 1999

Easily the classiest of the three late-90’s Hermitage selections in this flight and there really isn’t much more to say. The Chave just hits different. Plenty of life and enjoyment left in these. — 9 days ago

Offerus Saint-Joseph Syrah 2015

Still a go-to. Nice balance of cherry and blackberry fruit with leather, black pepper and baking spice. Decent concentration and finish. Excellent value. — a month ago
