Deep ruby, red berries, gamy, high acidity high tannin, spices, need time to mature

Pale ruby on the rim, dark ruby in the middle, medium plus body, medium alcohol. On the nose, there were aromas of dark cherry, blueberry, prunes and nice secondary aromas of flint, cloves and potting soil. Confirmed all on the palate. Medium silky tannins. This was a well structured and balanced wine with a decently long finish. Side note: blind tasted this with a mid-range Alexander Valley Syrah and man can you tell the difference! I could easily pick out the old world Juice :) and it was a lot better than the oak powered Sonoma Syrah.

Excellent entry-level wine from revered Hermitage producer Jean-Louis Chave’s negociant line, a blend of Grenache and Syrah from plots in Vinsobres, Visan, Buisson, and Estargues in the Southern Rhône. Aromas of
dark fruit, game and spice. Integrated oak. Smooth and delicious 🤤

Delicious! Loved it.

Fragrant, depth, youth and length makes this Rhône valley wine delicious. Another great effort by Jean Louis Chave display the modern red ripe fruit froward wine with graphite undertones with silky tannin. Goes amazing with a fatty ness of a lamb shoulder.
