Silène J.L. Chave Sélection Crozes-Hermitage Syrah 2017

Pale ruby on the rim, dark ruby in the middle, medium plus body, medium alcohol. On the nose, there were aromas of dark cherry, blueberry, prunes and nice secondary aromas of flint, cloves and potting soil. Confirmed all on the palate. Medium silky tannins. This was a well structured and balanced wine with a decently long finish. Side note: blind tasted this with a mid-range Alexander Valley Syrah and man can you tell the difference! I could easily pick out the old world Juice :) and it was a lot better than the oak powered Sonoma Syrah. — 5 days ago

Lockdown celeb 2. Entry level hermitage for a friend to try. Rather dissapointed. Definitely pepperu and light but not very complex. Rather dull and lock up. Bitter and hollow — 2 months ago

Hermitage Blanc Marsanne Roussanne

This was densely packed and immensely concentrated yet impeccably balanced. In many ways it felt like 50% classic white burgundy blended with 50% Hermitage Blanc- 2012. — 24 days ago
