My man killed 2020. Slayed it like it was a dragon. Super nose of stone, dark red cherries, lovely earth character, some tweed jacket and all of this is presented like refined silk or velvet. Man what strides William has taken. Wow that is just the sexiest, velvet, sweet fruited Pommard one can imagine! This is so fresh, yet also lush and succulent. Wow. What texture and refinement. Williams’s tannin quality has improved so much from 19 to 20. They are so silky, sweet and finely knit. Nose starting to get more red cherries and some nice florals. He nailed this vintage. So energetic and juicy. Just so good. As it airs I’ll be back. Such freshness with air and it gets tangy. Terrific, invigorating Pommard. After 3 hours nose has dark florals. Palate is now elegant and has such deep echoing fruit. So rich yet so ethereal. Masterful. — 8 days ago
My people this is a gem of stunning Ruby in the glass. Notes of earth, bramble notes abound, strawberry, rhubarb , dark ripe fig. Intensity in the mouth, sweet strawberry jam. Slightly viscous, great acid and structure racing and lingering in the mouth. Absolutely deeeeeelish. 14% — 7 days ago
While it comes from near the Côte des blancs, this cuvée is blanc de noirs (Pinot noir with about 5% meunier). It is exactly what you want from grower Champagne- assertive with both quality and a point of view. There is red fruit body to this wine and considerable ripeness do you not only get lemon, apple, brioche and pear, you get hints of raspberry and strawberry and a soft minerality that is irresistible. — 23 days ago
A racy Chiroubles. Charming purple dress, medium concentration and beautiful brilliance. Superb peppery nose, airy between bright floral bouquet (Rose, Iris) and vibrant fruits (cherry and raspberry). Concentration, as expected on solar vintages. The mouth is fresh, tense, with few tannins but beautiful chew. Great drinkability, served refreshed (12/14 degrees) and airy, it's a dangerous drink!
— 18 days ago
Another brilliant Bourgogne Cote d’Or from this rising young Burgundy young gun. Bright lifted nose of mid season cherries with some dark red cherries thrown in the mix and a lipstick like intensity. Floral. Like fresh dark roses. Lovely stoniness In the background. So pure and clean. Really just a remarkable nose. Luscious, deep and layered fruit. Palate is remarkable. Juicy, luscious, succulent and deep with huge red cherries, some darker red cherries and superb balance and incredible purity. This is better than the 19. Awesome awesome wine. Just so good. What one wants. That mouthfeel is a knockout. Huge mid palate and lovey treacly texture. So much mid palate amplitude. Stunning. As this airs the nose gets soil tones and you get even more flowers. This is a remarkable bottle of wine. Potting soil. But fresh and wet. So complex. — 10 days ago
Floral, acidic, funky all at once. Hints of orange blossom and creamsicle on the finish — 14 days ago
Deep, rich and ripe nose of loads of stones, black cherry, dark roses, violets, earth, bittersweet cocoa, and that classic Pommard stoniness. Ultra deep. Almost like a compote on the nose. Palate is dark, juicy, sleek and slippery. Super concentrated but never heavy. Terrific, delicious fruit that is backed up by superb stoniness. Exceptional purity and wonderful freshness and balance. This is a brooding bottle of wine that really balances power, ripeness and grace. This needs some air and i’ll be back but truly a phenomenal wine. — a day ago
