I paid a lot for this wine. As advised, I sat on it for years, storing it properly. But it tastes gross! I suspect there is something wrong with it. Soooooo disappointed in this 2013 CHRISTOPHER CREEK RUSSIAN RIVER RESERVE PINOT NOIR, which was opened on a special evening. — 4 years ago
A warm embrace! This wine is the most soothing satisfying cab I’ve had during the pandemic! It smells good! It looks good ! And it is both complex and smooth at the same time. Highly enjoyable! — 4 years ago
While pouring the wine, it flows into the glass in a lavender transparent stream. The rusty color often associated w Pinot noirs is absent. The nose is clean herbs and spice,,, a great fragrance for a line of foamy hand soaps! Okay, let’s give this quaff a taste….I taste cherries and orange zest with a finish that sticks around. If it were milk it would be skim. That, for me, is a bummer, because I am totally into whole milk. But it is a Pinot Noir. So, there’s that. It is an enjoyable wine, but I will keep shopping for a great affordable Pinot Noir. — 3 years ago
The velvety texture is not there. I love Halter Ranch Cab! This is different. It’s a bit too edgy. Licorice and green herbs on the nose. Dark burgundy with hints of amber in the glass. Rolls thick on the tongue. Not very fruity but more woodsy. Quite astringent. Will it settle down with time? Only time will tell. — 3 years ago
This wine MUST be opened awhile before drinking! If you sip too quick, it is fizzy and disappointing. But given those minutes to relax and breathe, the wine becomes smooth, almost creamy, like a lotion for the soul. Ha! That perhaps goes too far, but it does evolve beautifully. The characteristic dark cherry is on the nose. Appears as a rusty burgundy in the Riedel glass....a fine glass enhances the experience, and I am not even a Riedel salesperson! Dark cherry velvet buttered dirt is what I am tasting. I like it! — 4 years ago
A gift from a special brother-in-law enjoyed with our last dinner of 2021. Very dark in the glass releasing smoked mango notes when nosed. A sip suggests cocoa-dusted dark cherries in velvet. It goes down easy but finish is long and lingering warm and pleasant. I really enjoyed this bottle of wine! — 3 years ago
What a wimpy Malbec! — 3 years ago
This is a blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, and Cabernet Franc. Knowing that, I would have expected to be more jazzed by this wine. But, for me, it falls flat. Looks pretty in the glass... sort of a dark burgundy with slight amber hues. The aroma sends out more earthiness than fruitiness. Hints of mint and stone and nutmeg and maybe underripe plums? Rolling it on the tongue is quite disappointing. No beauty to the feel of it. It kind of suggests moldy oranges with its dry acidity. Note to self: do not purchase! — 4 years ago

With grilled tilapia, salad, and carrots. And dessert of berries on banana bread, this was just the thing! It paired welled with everything! I think this wine is a versatile winner! — 2 years ago
