Wonderful Surprise. We opened it to@share with Pizza, but killed it way before the pie was ready. Simply Delicious. Firm, pleasant start, fresh cut grass, honeysuckle top notes, white Burgundy at its best. There is no mystery to this wine. Open, drink, savor and be pleased with your purchase! — 7 years ago
Fresh, crisp, airy, enticing!
Orchard apples, a touch of underripe apricot, white flowers and, underneath, crushed rock, mineral, salty, moreish.
On the palate this is so juicy and so clean with zippy, fresh acidity and a great mineral backbone. No oak whatsoever & none needed.
This has presence, depth & zing.
Lipsmacking delicious. — 3 years ago
Extraordinary white Burgundy from Guffens’ Mâconnais-based négociant business Verget, made from Chardonnay grown in Le Corton. Beautiful golden color. Quite rich and evolved, with complex aromas of dried and exotic fruits, chamomile and honeyed notes. Pure, rich, lively, mineral. Incredible freshness even 25 years after the vintage — 4 years ago
Love its color and well balance of citrus and minerals — 6 years ago
Medium gold, heavy in the glass like oil. Ripe apricot nose. Also notes of peach, vanilla, wet pebble stones, sweet kiwi fruit. Huge power in the mouth where the fruit matches some big structure. Long finish. This wine ebbed and flowed all day and needed to be chilled down a few times with the warm outside weather. Drink these sooner rather than later. — 6 years ago
Light golden color, Acacia, almond, honey bouquet, with sweet cream, honey flavors. Medium bodied, very long finish. At peak and probably good for 2-3 more yrs at this level — 8 years ago
Very much like a new world Chardonnay with that generous Macon nature. In a blind tasting I could easily pick this as Australian and be wrong. Peachy notes with lemon. Touch of pineapple juice. Vines are apparently 50 years of age and the wine sees 20% new oak. Drinks to its price point. Opened my final bottle 19 weeks later on 1st April 2022 with consistent notes. Very new world in style with notes of pineapple juice. Drinks to its price point of $44. — 5 years ago
Deep medium gold. Heavy weight. Killer nose. Notes of apricot, gravel stone, orange, tan spice, some ginger and a little toffee. Some mint appears as the wine gets more air. Rich and fat in the mouth. Sneaky acidity. Great length. Loved this tonight. — 6 years ago
