Still very young but very good. Opens up into a beautifully perfumed nose of crushed flowers (Violet) cocoa, red cherry and subtle truffle. Starts light and then really fleshes out towards the back. Really delicious. Steak florentine here we come — 2 months ago
Super dark, super sexy Cab... on the nose, cassis, black currant, dark olive tapenade and tar complimented by crushed (dried) rose petals. This is a powerful blockbuster type wine with a finish that goes on and on . Big as well as complex..Super velvety tannins. It's a monster now but should be age worthy — 3 months ago
If you're not on this mailing list, then get on it (if you can)... made by former marcassin protege, Matt Courtney, this stuff is insanely good. Plenty of fruit, texture and nuance. It has so many aromas and flavors... clove, cinnamon, strawberry, licorice, all spice. It's so much fun to see how this evolves in glass...
super young, I suspect this will age for many many years but it was fun to try today..:/ nice!!!! — 9 days ago
Fabulous wine. Golden color with classic chenin aromas; quince, lemon oil, honey and butterscotch... found this on the list at Bernardus lodge for $60... siting down outside at the lodge with this at my table for $60 is ridiculous... good work michael Marcy — 3 months ago
Tasted this with a few wholesale accounts the other day. Wow it is good. Alpine Nebbiolo! It is elegant with tons of character and beautiful fruit. It is not aggressively tannic at all, which means it is a Nebbiolo you can drink today. It was warm outside but this red still fit the bill beautifully.
bright red cherry, anise and sage on the nose. The palate is more complex than I could've ever imagined. What a delightful wine — 2 months ago
04 nahe seems to be working well these days! Tons of life ahead. Lots of viscosity and intensity with apricot and nectarine balancing the petrol. Perfect with foil gras. On a side note the kabinett was over the hill but the spatlese is rocking hard! — 3 months ago
From a 30 year old hillside vineyard at Southern most part of Napa Valley. This is a truly remarkable Chardonnay. It boasts verve and acidity but it is by no means, lean or 'steeley' in nature. The acidity and precision are not at the expense of the beautifully rich fruit, which carries the wine. The nose is full of orchard fruit, citrus blossoms , and every-so-light butterscotch. The palate is mineral driven with loads of pretty mandarin orange, lemon oil, and verbena. This is about as 'old world' as you will find a Chardonnay in California. — 3 months ago
