good example of what a German, Baden area, Pinot Noir can be. Spatburgunder in German labeling
Light, delicate, aromatic, somewhat more sour cherry and rhubarb than you might expect but still a win. — 2 months ago
Scouring a wine list, my eyes always perk up at the sight of a Spatburgunder — a year ago
A darker Pinot with a bit more punch. Needs to breath a bit and then shows dark cherry with a raspberry whiff, a hint of kirsch, some nicely integrated spice woody aromas. Enticing.
On the palate this is so smooth, velvety, with a nice round mouthfeel and so fine tannins. Impeccably balanced and is drinking so nicely right now.
This is really fine. — 2 years ago
