Medium ruby still , with some light bricking on the rim . Surprisingly open when opened , tobacco with mixed red fruits , truffle , grafite , lovely definition , touch of blackcurrant and marine , oyster shell . On the palate good weight and mostly ripe red fruits , almost like a fruit jelly in style , but with great acidity and balance , noticeable rounded fine tannins on the finish . Good length , tobacco and mineral notes . Great now , gets better , really grows in the glass . Now and for the next 15 years I would imagine . — 2 months ago
My sisters birth year and finally time to open it. Pairing with rack of lamb for Christmas dinner. Opened and decanted for a couple hours. Starts off light and not very expressive. Finished with dinner as an incredible robust Bordeaux with great fruit and depth. Wow. This wine showed why old Bordeaux rocks. — 3 months ago
very soft drinking Cab and probably should have waited a few years to open a 2020 vintage. Nice flavor profile but was expecting a bolder finish. lets see how it opens up. Very Good but not the powerhouse I was hoping for. — 3 days ago
1st bottle of 2023 and had to open something fun.
1 hour decant(fine/cloudy sediment). A fabulous reddish tawny color. On the nose: Amazing notes of worn leather, cigar smoke, floral, some sweet cherry/plum, wet funky forest floor, white pepper. Taste: kaboom! Smooth, seemless, brilliant wine with cherry/raspberry, leather, tobacco, smokey, earthy, pencil shavings and velvety soft tannins lead to a LONG finish. YUM!! What a treat to start the new year. — 3 months ago
An elegant wine. Took a half hour to open up. Great balance and silky tannins. Showing secondary and tertiary characteristics — a month ago
It took a couple of hours to open up. Not highly fruit forward. A moment of dark fruit gave way to bitter tannins which then gave way to a soft velvety finish with baking spice and cherry notes.
EDIT: On the second day open it was very soft, balanced, and lovely. It tasted, to me, like a truer version of what the wine was meant to be. — a month ago
Open and decanted for 30 minutes, the wine presented blackcurrant, and a bit of spice, tobacco and mint on the palate. After 40 minutes the wine was fully open and presented soft dark cherry & a bit of leather. It has a long satisfying finish. There is plenty of time left in this vintage as it presented no serious oxidation at the edges. Enjoyed with tenderloin of beef & roasted potatoes. Loved it! — 3 months ago
Celebrating our 29th Anniversary! I am so guilty of opening wines before recommendations.. but I absolutely have zero regrets on this one! I absolutely love this and a huge thank you to @Eric L. for his recommendation on this wine! So many nuances in this glass! Tar, molasses, smoke, expresso, dark berries, red raspberries, licorice, bay leaf, graphite and oak! Positive I could keep tasting and add more notes! Super happy with this wine! — 3 months ago

Medium deep ruby core , medium wide ruby garnet rim . Quite slow and fat tears. Quite exotic nose , slightly high toned, lots of ripe spicy blackcurrant , dark cherry , blackberry and underneath a grafite and earthy note , marine scents also . On the palate round, ripe and sweet dark fruits, blackcurrant , blackberry and dark cherry , touches of grafite and cigar box. Surprisingly good , even refreshing acidity , ripe ample tannins; there is great intensity here. Balanced alcohol even though it is quite decadent and rich, lots of glycerin . Very long and succulent but balanced finish with touches of mineral and tobacco. The plumpness and exoticism does come across as pretty atypical for Latour , though it is a real success for the vintage and an undeniably enjoyable wine. Drinking ok now , with a decant of an hour or two but really did improve over the 5 hours we had it open. Will obviously last and improve over the next 20 years and I’m sure go further still . — 6 days ago
