My 4th time trying the 14 vintage of Trevallon. It’s exceptional and among the very best bottles of wine i’ve ever had. Nose has some high toned flowers, cigar, earth, and a funky barnyard note that goes away with some air. Gave it a 2 hour decant. This wine is powerful and mystical. Just when you think it’s too raw and young, there’s finesse and elegance. So much going on and a really long finish. A treat to drink and can’t wait to see how it evolves. This vintage will last a long time. — 3 months ago
celebrating 37. another lovely old bordeaux. this one is musty and dusty with muted fruit notes, rhubarb, berries, black currant, and then some black tea, green pepper, and a little bit of tobacco leaf. very very nice. — 4 months ago
large magnum format of the 82 vintage. 😋😋 — 2 months ago
Solid pop and pour cab franc. Mix of earth and dark fruit. A touch heavy / off balance but nice enough. — 2 months ago
Very classic right bank merlot plum mixed with black fruits, tobacco leaf, black tea, and a touch of black olive. This is a nice drinking window, primary fruits still fresh but plenty going on — 4 months ago
old soul, definitely into its later years, and a pleasure to drink. — 4 months ago

on a Bordeaux kick lately. 06 Cru Bourgeois. very mature at this point, nose is heavy on pencil shavings and tobacco leaf. palate is the same, very tertiary flavor profile. fruit is very muted at this point. it’s nothing particularly special other than a classic mature bordeaux. — 4 months ago
