First time trying Frogs Leap and long overdue. Beautiful wine and even a tad young. Bouquet leans more old world to me. Tea leaves, smoke, cocoa powder, with very subtle fruit. Palate is similar. Totally understand why this is called a restrained or throwback style of Napa Cab. Fruit is fresh but muted on palate. A lot of that cocoa and tea leaf profile. Finish is ridiculously long. 2001 right on the money. Some fresh fruit still present and also some classic aged bordeaux profile. Really nice balance and a drinking sweet spot. — 3 days ago
