A delicious Pinot Noir from our trip to Osoyoos in 2017. Qwam Qwmt means achieving excellence in the language of the Osoyoos Indian Band. We really enjoyed visiting Nk’Mip, trying the wines and enjoying the restaurant overlooking Lake Osoyoos and the valley, even if the view was obscured by the heavy smoke from the wild fires from that summer. — 6 years ago

The winemaking here is very much in evidence, and obscured the classic features of an aged Barolo. Yet quite an achievement. Still massive and young, with dense, balanced structure. A powerful wine with brilliant fruit. Terrific with 6 hours of slow-o. — 7 years ago
Chenin from high altitude vineyards on calcareous soils in Catalunya. Pours a hazy copper, with vivid energy apparent from the nose. Structured and mineral, with clear varietal definition, complimented, not obscured by microbial character, all with baffling stamina after 7+ years of bottle age. — 8 years ago
Ripe currant fruit with a touch of vanilla and brown sugar, intense and ripe, but with enough savoriness to stay drinkable. Loaded with ripe tannin that is obscured by the fruit. Not my usual style at all, it is a guilty pleasure. — 8 years ago
A ripe, full, balanced Chianti. Color is fairly saturated. Nose shows dark black cherry, intense and rich minerality, lots of pencil lead (no, we’re not in Pauillac, Toto). In the mouth, it’s on the more sedate, less acidic side, with almost rich flavors of cherry and liquid stones. Finish is very long, with lowish acids for a Tuscan Sangiovese, and quite a bit of tannin, though it is well obscured and integrated. Not a pizza wine, though that’s what I opened it with. Like a Brunello, this would shine with a grilled steak. — 4 years ago
Still so fresh and lively, and as with so many Le Piane wines, it evolves so nicely in the glass. Mineral, herb, dried fruit, potpourri. Ever changing and not obscured by wood influence. #drinksatantonios — 6 years ago
Dry black fruit, full body, strong tannins. Good cherry flavor with a decent, obscured complexity. Amazing value at $20 a bottle. — 8 years ago
It's a savory wine, the way I like it and the way Randall Grahm usually makes it. Dark and mysterious, it smells of meat and olives and earth, with a little black fruit thrown in just to make it palatable for everybody else. There is, however, a “cleanliness” to it that is often obscured by oak. It's just the same way on the palate, with flavors mimicking the aromas. The finish lingers comfortably and provides plenty of anticipation for the next sip. Meditate on a piece of dark chocolate while sipping this. — 10 years ago
Deep Ruby and a pronounced nose of cassis, blackberry and black cherry nearly obscured by a heavy hand with vanilla, toast , charred wood and other oak influences. For me the wine lacks balance with high alcohol and low acidity skewing the fruit. For those who like Napa fruit bombs this will be a hit but it is not a wine of elegance and balance. — 3 years ago
Nice and smooth — 6 years ago
This wine comes on with a bit too much oak for me. Bright cherries and spice on the nose are obscured by the wood effect, but it’s not so pronounced on the palate. There’s great fruit here when it shines through. Firm tannins beg for meat. Sausages? Bolognese sauce? — 7 years ago
Very youthful. A touch of Brett. Awesome cedar and tobacco nose with tons of plum fruit, slightly obscured by some horse and band aid. This was about the best showing you could expect from a slightly imperfect bottle. — 8 years ago
Always so reliable. It does not even matter that 13 is a rough vintage. Nose shows the vintage but beyond that is minerals galore. A bit of a custardy note that I find blows off after a bit. Palate is lush, rich and concentrated with great purity. Still has adequate acidity and a long finish. The minerals will come with air. Obscured by froot now. — 10 years ago

(The Importer label obscured the vintage, so I pealed it back — 🙄🤷) Much darker purple than the Dolcetto, richer and riper purple plum fruit as well (I just finish picking the remaining fruit off our plum tree before the birds and squirrels finished it, so I have ripe dark plum on the brain!!), this has nice weight, solid balancing acidity, long, lingering finish, only nit is it’s 14.5% ABV!?!? — 15 days ago
