No rating for this one. Certainly over the hill. Lots of iron on the nose and palate. Still quite a lot of acid left which is why this wasn’t fully dead at this point. Fruit character was mostly raisins. An educational experience but likely won’t be trying to hunt down any ‘71 Bordeaux any time soon. — 6 days ago
Didn’t love this. Felt disjointed, like the fruit and the alcohol were fighting each other. — 6 days ago
Interesting take on Syrah—showed better at fridge temp. — 6 days ago
Beautiful purity of fruit here. Certainly can tell it’s Pinot from a warmer climate but doesn’t feel heavy or cloying. — 6 days ago
This wine was weird. I thought it was completely Madeirized when I opened it. Let it sit around for a few hours and it came around. Still felt kind of ripe and flabby but the oxidized character had resolved. — 6 days ago
This is quite a wine—fruit is so pure it gives the impression of ripe sweetness. Some green elements that should integrate with time. I think this will be truly remarkable with some more time in the cellar. — 6 days ago
