Showing that alluring richness of bottle aged GS. Must have been intensely austere in its youth. Steely (S02??) aromas with minerals, fusal notes and mature lemon. Some complex creamy notes in the nose. Perfect mouthfeel, lithe but rich... fresh citrus acidity, great oily mouth coating texture and a long finish with nutty nuisances. Bravo! — 4 months ago
Dense slightly rich aromas show yeast influence to the tropical under ripe white peach and lime aromas... true to type; this wine invites seaside foods...in the mouth it’s again denser than most, but well made and delivering well. Shrimp ceviche anyone? — 4 months ago
Welschriesling This is “the tits” (sorry had to). No seriously, this wine is great. Aromas of white lillies, Asian pear and lime juice. In the mouth it’s vibrant and clean with fascinating flavors of candied citrus peels, minerals and an alluring pungency similar to GV. Wow! #Ilovethisvariety — a year ago
Green mango, honeydew melon, Thai lime and hints of creamy lemon fill out the dense and powerful nose… nice contrast between rich texture and clean lively acid mouthfeel…some minerals, and a long lasting ripe tasting finish. Pretty well made: slightly too much So2 but a style that hits it right down the middle..too bad I didn’t have some food to match this time.

This Roter V exceeded my hopes. This has all the alluring aromas of a GV but minus the green aspects of “radish and pepper”. In his place is the most delicate pink cotton candy fruit combined with the richness and complexity I was expecting from this rare Austrian variety. From what I can tell it is not genetically related to Gruner Veltliner but I would encourage you to dig into that research. This is delightful and served cold... I have a new favorite inquiry. — 7 months ago
