Romain ferments in a combination of 90% cement egg and 10% foudre. This is my kind of 1er Cru Chablis. There is an abundance of energy. Bright, crisp tropical fruits that lean more towards the star fruit side of things. There is lemon citrus and loads of minerals. The oak treatment is extremely light and imparts more to the texture than anything else. The finish is long, refreshing and super satisfying. Really lovely stuff. — 2 years ago
An Acker tag on and a surprise of how nice it’s drinking. Not yet over the hill. Not complex but nice balance of that aged forest floor notes and Mushrooms with very ripe dark fruits reduced down in cooking. Wine searcher says 50% Négrette, 35% Cabernet Franc et Cabernet Sauvignon, 15% Syrah. Bottle confirms Négrette and Cabernet, says 32,327 bottles and this one numbered 13,343. — 5 years ago

Quick runoff after pressing leads to a light amber / peach skin color that leads right to the bright and intense aromatics of peach, yellow pear, and baked golden apples. Upon tasting there’s an intense saline grab right in the middle of the tongue with good mineral characteristics. Low to medium, but the perfect amount, of acidity compliments stone fruit flavors. Good long finish.

Robe plus concentrée que le pinot de base malgré l'âge. Le nez est de cerise, framboise, cuir, humus, chocolat donc de gâteau forêt noir. La bouche est charpentée, assez puissante et la finale est longue. Les tanins sont souples. — 3 months ago

Nez discret d’amblée, un peu de fruits rouges.
En bouche, c’est croquant, baies, fruits rouges, avec un coté terreux, forêt humide. Légère acidité en fin de bouche, assez pour être un brin dérangeante qui masque un peu les arômes de milieu de bouche.
