This was the Mystery Wine which I ended up picking - more an educated guess than anything. It boiled down to the fact I didn’t think it was from Bordeaux and the host is the Australian agent for Colgin which many Aussies would not have heard of and he saw the opportunity to show it to the 20 guests. The Wine had more rhubarb and raspberry notes. Richer than the Pomerol Wines - more new world. Very good but not cheap at over $1300 AUD. Others preferred at that price. I have had the Colgin “Herb Lamb “ which was equally impressive and expensive. In November 2017 Ann Colgin and her husband sold 60% of the winery to French Luxury conglomerate LVMH.

Brilliant stuff here. Deep, seriously fruity and still very young, but this vintage has some serious stuffing hidden beneath its primal expression. Best from 2020 thru 2035+
