Excellent saison farmhouse style with wild yeast and dry hopped — 4 days ago
I love this vintage in the Mosel. Classic yet overlooked for the more slutty 05’s and 03’s. Nose has some aged character but starts off restrained with some lemon, slate and hints of mushroom. Some honey and along with a foie gras savoriness as well. What a palate. Honeyed, rich, savory and elegant with terrific freshness. Opens up on the nose with green tea and some lavender. Really rich and decadent with a icing on the cake like texture. So pure, deep and sweet with such a dramatic palate presence. Awesome. — 5 days ago
@Delectable Wine this is AP #97
Sick nose. Sawdust, porcini mushrooms. Lemon, lime, complex. Simple. Spice. Juicy, complex, good acidity, sweet rock candy, long and complex, this needs mega air as it is not showing as well as the previous wine. Juicy, sweet and mineral but needs air. After air the nose becomes insanely confectionary. Green tea, bark, so so much spicey Apple. Complex, chewy and dense but seems more light bodied than the other wine. So nimble. Wow. — a month ago
Nose has dried lemon rind, beeswax, dehydrated pineapple and warmed honeycomb.
Palate has candied lemon, dried strawberry, fresh lemon peel with mild wood influence. Medium acidity, medium finish, a touch of light sweetness.
Really improving with air, might be the best Stone Hill white we've enjoyed!
This bottle is approaching its peak of enjoyment, at five years old and two years past current vintage, should hold acceptably for 2-4 years further in proper storage. A pleasant wine, solid values are easily found in Missouri wine country. — a month ago
Good lord this is delicious. On the nose, wet granite, lemon curd, guava. In the mouth, searing acidity, lemon curd, crystal-bright minerals, guava, touch of residual sugar. Just a super clean beautiful wine. Long finish. — 5 hours ago
Slightly dry, some apple. Delicious with Pasta Caprese. — 3 days ago
First ever young wine from this terrific and overlooked site. Stunning nose. Huge slate and florals. Green apples galore. Incredibly fragrant. Wow. Lemon. But much more intense lime and lime rock candy. Confectionary and so so good. Huge palate with tons of dry extract and rocks. Terrific inner mouth aromas, with grandiose depth and awesome sap and structure. Sweet but also finishes somewhat salty. Terrific rock candy impression on the palate. Balanced and so so pure. Such a baby but just superb. As this opens up it gains tremendous elegance and refinement and the finish gets even more slatey. — 5 days ago
Stunningly pure nose. Wow. Sick forest floor, petrol, tea, herbs, mint, superb mint, complex, citrus, superbly complex, sweet peach and citrus fruit, so fresh and vibrant, wow, dense, structured, minty, juicy, clean, inner mouth aromas, juicy and clean. Savory, umami, lime, tea, zesty, clean and mineral. So so long. Really fine oolong, icing on a cake. So that acid is sick. Pure. This is genius. Long. Mouthwatering. Candied rock candy. Inner mouth aromas. Just. — a month ago
