Cuvée Georges Faiveley Les Saint Georges Nuits St. Georges 1er Cru Pinot Noir 1999

Dark fruit on the nose with a slightly chlorinated note. Cool and focussed at the front of the palate. Good NSG depth. As it finishes slightly thinning with drying oak. Decent but in an odd place right now. It might resolve but it’ll be a masculine wine if it does. — a day ago

Clos des Ormes Morey-Saint-Denis 1er Cru Pinot Noir 2013

Decent Premier Cru Burg under $100 in a restaurant is hard to come by. Very pleased with this: beautiful high toned cherry/raspberry with mineral/earth undertones, and balanced acidity. Well paired with pork chops. — 10 days ago

Saint Georges Pinot Noir 2017

Sour cherry and spice, with a lightness and dryness that makes it very food friendly. — 21 days ago

Les Saint Georges Nuits St. Georges 1er Cru Pinot Noir 2011

Let sit for 30 min to let it open. Rose petal and cherry aromas. Bright red berry fruit, leather with a bit of white pepper on the finish. Quite feminine and lovely. #thibaultligerbelair — 8 days ago

Day 2 notes. Big, Smokey and leathery nose. Floral and ripe. Deep. Really deep. Palate is deep and concentrated with fantastic velvety tannins. Opulent, fresh and deep. So pure. Amazing mouthfeel. Stunning. — 12 days ago

Stopped by Georges’ wine shop in Tain L’Hermitage back in May based on your previous notes. He had a bottle of the ‘16 Brocarde and Côte Rozier roties open in the shop. Great guy and both wines were wonderful. Thanks for the online introduction!

Les Pruliers Nuits St. Georges 1er Cru Pinot Noir 2007

This was pretty tight & still not ready for primetime unlike most of the 07’s that I have tried recently where they had rich lush fruits with lots of spice. — 6 days ago

Beaujolais Gamay 2017

Trader Joe's, $9

Much darker in color than other Gamays I've had. Bright tart red fruit on the nose, a little astringent. Tastes of tart dried strawberries with a slightly sweet finish. Also some earth and mineral notes, and some of the astringency on the nose is also present in the taste, a bit alcoholy. Nevertheless I love Gamays and this is a solid one, and also the only one my Trader Joe's carries. One of my favorite wines under $10 from TJ's so far.
