This was awesome! 1hr+ decant and needed every bit of it. Dark red color. Amazing floral and perfumed nose. Medium tannins. Minimal fruit but lots flowers and earth. Chewy and deep. Long finish. Obviously a strong vintage, but producer seems very solid. Awesome QPR! — 10 days ago
Sick nose. Incense, spices, lavender, so floral and pretty. Orange rind and orange zest. Flower shop. Granite. So so pretty. Cote Rotie like nose.
Palate is so refined and juicy. Wow. What an intense wine. So gamey and meaty. Gravy almost. Blackberry and black fruits. Huge acids. So juicy and terrific fruit and purity. Velvety and sweet tannins and a level of class and refinement not even seen in the Aubert. Lovely and fresh. Really well balanced. Saturates the palate with a terrific fruit soak. Excellent wine. Needs maybe 5 years! — 2 days ago
It’s actually the Gevry Chambertin. — 20 days ago
Around 25 ha of vines, limestone clay and the average age of the vines is 45 years. Dominated by Merlot (65%) with CF and CS (25-10%). Red and black fruit, some flowers and five spices. Very smooth and soft tannins on the pallet, drinking remarkable well for young wine like this! Thumbs up from the queen so happy with this OWC for a bargain. — 9 days ago
Mostly Marsanne and this clocks in at a whopping 15%! Nose is rich and ripe. Very pure. Fascinating Marsanne minerality. Buttery but high end French buttery. Smells big. Palate is quite elegant and shows less heat than the 14.5% Viognier. It’s still there but this is rich and dense for sure but also playful and light at the same time. Very juicy, lovely freshness and as the wine opens it retains more freshness and the heat goes away. Marsanne handles alcohol much better than Viognier. Nose gets much more refined and elegant as it airs out and wow that finish is super long. Really well made. Teetering between 9.2 and 9.3 right now. I’ll see where air brings this . — 12 days ago
