1978 vintage. Great fill with a fully saturated cork. Used a Durand to remove and cork held up but big cork splinters shedding upon removal. Decanted and tasted over the course of an hour. Super silky, not chunky, sed. Light-medium body. Had to coax the nose out a little but revealed cassis, tobacco, dark plum, sandalwood and cherry pits. All these plus a slight, beef broth touch in the flavors. Not improving but can sustain another half-decade in this incarnation. Gorgeous, old BDX. Drink now till 2029. 12.8.23. — 5 months ago
So deep and layered nose. Just wanna dive in and stay there. What a wonderful World. Despite The palate does not fully respect the nose, it is very balanced and integrated. Don’t say 2023 isn’t a good vintage!! 98-99. Elegance. — 4 days ago
Second time trying the ‘95. Fully resolved and drinking beautifully (saved a little for the next day and had faded quite a bit). — 6 months ago
Cigar box, black currants, cassis, lovely, somewhat mature fruit, still shows a somewhat firm structure, seems close to fully mature, very long finish, but I’d bet will still hold another decade in a cool cellar, one of the great bargains of the 1982 vintage on release!! — 4 months ago

Excellent 08. Chave and Allemand nailed the difficult vintage in Northern Rhône, and 2008 Hermitage is showing beautifully tonight, fresh, elegant and detailed with aromas of juicy red berry fruit, bacon, herbs and smoky minerals. Perhaps a little rough around the edges as expected for the vintage but really, a beautiful rendition this year and it’s fully open and ready to drink. — 7 hours ago
