Out of magnum a fucking classic

I love this wine. I love how it actually tastes Spanish and not like a Californian. It's funky and a bit uncomfortable, but catapults my imagination. I love everything I've tasted from this winery.

Clear, star bright and garnet, medium minus concentration and medium viscosity
Medium intensity aromas of black plum, ripen strawberry, dried violet, licorice, clove, forest floor and wet clay

Nose of cherries, stewed tomato, cigar box,
Spices, and leather. Bright red fruits on the attack with a silky finish. Very pretty, and an archetypal Rioja. Brilliant.

I want to drink this wine every hour on the hour.

What Rioja should taste like - classic strawberry, cherry, hint of vanilla - and plenty of earth tones on the nose.

Great, but not as good as the 2001.

Softer than the blockbuster '01, nice earthy, mushroom and dried cherry aromas. Some nice secondary stuff combining with tart red fruit on the palate. Mellow but distinguished. In a good spot.
