Nose : slight oxidation.
Palate: mineral and acidic. Get some lemon fruit as it opens. Some almond. — 10 months ago
Bigger than most Barbarescos… earthy and dry, some must, some spice. Lovely on the tongue. Light florals. Not overpowering. Classic Italian tart / cran. Even a lemony finish.
X-Mas gift from Tom& Sal from Le Volpi e l'Uva, Florence… their Northern Italian Wine Club this year. The rest of the case is headed for the cellar. — 2 years ago
Not that big for nerello but it’s such a pleaser. Didn’t even need much of a decant. Just good. Nice balance of cran and mineral and acid. Not lots of grip — 3 years ago
Tobacco, cran, some plum. Big fruit. Solid
With John & Sue, who just got to town…
Update… just noticed I had trouble rating this wine in Italy… as I thought, a testament to the quality of the wine I was drinking there, that against others I had this a couple notches lower. — 4 years ago

Second Vino Nobile di Montepulciano I bought for home after a stay there last month. Much softer on the palate than the first, which resembled Chianti Classico. This is closer to a Barolo with much softer tannins. Salt & Pepper cran-apple-cherry.
Will savor this case…. — 5 months ago
