The 1996 Beaux Freres ‘The Beaux Freres Vineyard Pinot Noir (WWB, 91) is living out the end of its life in style. At this stage the wine was radically transformed with some air, providing really an hour of tertiary enjoyment with its peat moss, wild mushroom risotto and delicate cran-raspberry and lavender flavors. Beautiful, and refined, this is truly one of the best of this challenging vintage in the Willamette Valley that I have sampled. Drink 2019-2022- 91

Got lucky to taste this at Beaux Frères Saturday. Local collector brought this magnum in day before along with other vintages. Lovely, well aged, soft, expressive.
