Beaux Frères

The Upper Terrace Pinot Noir 2016

Wet earthy nose. Full body, dry, smooth. Cherry cola, vanilla up front, strawberries on the back. Outstanding! Great wine from a great winery...as good as Oregon Pinot Noir gets IMO. — a month ago

Brick House

Ribbon Ridge Gamay Noir 2018

I first drank this wine in 2004 as a 22 year-old wine neophyte—with duck confit & spaetzle at the late great Earth & Ocean in Seattle—it blew my mind. As Swift said, “I drink no memories” so how does it hold up?

Quite respectably. Opening palate is fresh, mouthwatering, the memories of great Beaujolais crus past. Mid-palate with currant & slate. Excellent acid-tannin accord, cherry liqueur finish. Glorious with roast chicken & black trumpets.

Ribbon Ridge Vineyard Pinot Noir 2016

Lots of red fruit, some spice that doesn’t overpower, licorice, cherry, plum. Great finish. Day 2 was the better experience with this one so there definitely is some time to go on this. Good show — 20 days ago
