Day 1 (one hour open):
Dark garnet color good clarity, boiled leather and stewed cherry on the nose. Nice mineral note, coffee bean, cocoa, toast, still very tannic, mouth-coating, bit powdery on the back side. Lots of grip. Almost salty. Finishes with bite.
Day 2 (sixteen hours open):
Oxblood color, lingering stewed cherry scent, concentrated cola flavor, but savory - very cool. Tannins dispersed, still nice weight. Delicious. — 2 days ago
Cassis and the promise of largeness on the nose. A mouthful of blackberries and black current compote, iodine and an unusual saltiness, some damp earth fades to vanilla-tinged vintage portiness that I’m on the fence about. Probably a carnivore’s delight, otherwise not food friendly, but that’s ok. Contemplation worthy - esp. if of the navel. — 6 days ago
Zoom. 24 hrs open (chilled) and hitting gorgeous apricot notes, honeysuckle blossom, and a little canned peach nectar, a champagne-like aftermath - brioche! from where? - then acidic mouthwatering waterfall of a finish. perfect quarantine companion - so long as you have nothing much else to do! — 9 days ago
