Château Grand Ferrand

Château Pavie

Saint-Èmilion Grand Cru Red Bordeaux Blend 2006

A very dark Ruby colour. Rich flavours on the full bodied palate. Jancis said a Bordeaux trying to be Californian - a fair comment IMO but delicious nevertheless. Not particularly Saint Emillion as the fruit is way riper than usual. Black plum, mulberry and a hint of sweet pipe tobacco. Even at 18 years of age I may have drunk this a little early. 70% Merlot, 20% Cabernet Franc, 10% Cabernet Sauvignon. The next night still rich and powerful. — 4 days ago

Domaine des Lambrays

Clos des Lambrays Grand Cru Pinot Noir 2014

Delectable Wine
8.9

The 2014 Clos des Lambrays Grand Cru, made by Thierry Brouin, has a typically leafy bouquet. There is something autumnal about the aromatics, and some red fruits are extant but certainly moving into their secondary phase. The palate is medium-bodied with an austere, slightly meaty opening. This is not a concentrated Lambrays by any means. It's a little dry and mealy in the mouth, though it has charm. (Neal Martin, Vinous, June 2024)

Château Lynch-Bages

Grand Cru Classé Pauillac Cabernet Sauvignon Blend 1995

1995 vintage. Good fill. Excellent cork with minimal saturation. Decanted and throwing a tad extra sediment…a nice mix of chunky and powdery sed. Tasted after 30 minutes and 2 hours open and decanted. Light-medium body. Dark cherry and earth in the nose. These transferred over and slapped on a fudge chocolate note on the finish. In a good place now and not improving. Would seem to hold steady in this standing for another 3-4 years. 6.6.24. — 15 days ago

Château Latour

Premier Grand Cru Classé Pauillac Red Bordeaux Blend 2004

2 hour decant(decent chunky sediment). A stunning dark crimson color with little bricking. On the nose: expressive perfumed notes of dark red fruit, creme de cassis, mushrooms, floral, touch of stewed meat and cigar box. Taste: velvety, classy, fresh wine with red fruit, minerals, herbal, earth, pencil lead and a nice peppery cedar/leather medium plus finish. Sure, maybe not the depth/concentration of a classic vintage, but I can sniff/sip this wine all night. YUM! Happy Father's day to me. — 5 days ago
