2 Pi R Priorat Red Blend 2021

Darker fruits, raspberries, vanilla, fig, dry minerals and gentle tannins. Quite nice. Organic. Priorat is always good in the dead of winter. — 19 days ago

I actually don’t know Priorat so well, but I love the region and this one hits the mark! Will look out for the GV5

Viña Bosconia Reserva Rioja Tempranillo Blend 2008

Wanted to test a bottle. Took a full 24 hrs to reach drinkability. At that point, delicious and more nuanced than expected. — 14 hours ago

Viña Tondonia Gran Reserva Rioja Tempranillo Blend 2008

Shockingly fresh, focused and loads of structure. Maybe Tempranillo isn’t so bad. 😊 — 15 days ago

Viña Cubillo Crianza Rioja Tempranillo Blend 2015

2015. Wasn’t sure what to pair with this delicious Filipino rice dish with longanisa, chicken, and cumin crab fat butter (likely a wide range of whites, rosés, and lighter reds would work well), but I wanted to try this Spanish Crianza and it was wonderful! The fruit flavors were enough to complement the sweet sausage and the smooth tannins cut through the richness without intensifying the spice. — a month ago

Viña Gravonia Crianza Rioja Viura 2011

Vintage 2011 | stinky smell, high bitters, flint, tight and stiff. I like the character. Need to taste more Rioja whites to be able to recognize if tasted blind. — 19 days ago

It’s an atypical & extremely old school version of Rioja White, one of my favorites actually of all time. Not to everyone’s taste because of its oxidized character but curious as to the tight & stiff qualities, given that seems unusual. CUNE makes a Rioja white with a small dosage of sherry that’s fantastic@Peter van den Besselaar

Viña Tondonia Rioja Rosé Blend 2008

Medium copper salmon colour . Slightly waxy dried orange , spiced wild strawberry , touch of resin , sea salt . On the palate this has more fruit , with touches of orange , spiced dried strawberry , roasted nuts, saline seaside hints , balanced acidity and elegant , refined personality. Intense and long , this is probably showing better and more complete than the 2011 I had a few weeks ago . Just starting to get going , but still with a long life ahead. From now and over the next 5 to 10 years perhaps . — a month ago

Lot C-91 Cabernet Sauvignon 2018

Old world in style with delicate fruit, subtle wood notes, some tannin, and firm acidity. Assemblage of Cabs from Oakville, Rutherford, St. Helena, and Howell Mountain which accentuate the Napa terroir. — 2 months ago
