Nice discovery of the southwest, with this entry-level cuvée that makes you want to know the rest of the production. A blend that puts Abouriou in the spotlight, a grape close to Malbec or Tannat. The whole presents a very nice balance between structure and freshness; rather oriented red fruits, supported by marked tannins. Good q / p ratio

The nose reveals; golden raisins, green & golden apple, candied, sour lemons, lemon meringue, dry apricots, yellow peach, lime candy, cream, vanillin, warm caramel, candle wax, honeycomb, melted white butter, shade of herbaceousness, chalk, saline with white spring flowers, greens & withering yellow florals.
Big, beautiful, rich mouthfeel with excellent viscosity. Beautiful & well polished. Golden raisins, green & golden apple, candied, sour lemons, lemon meringue, dry apricots, yellow peach, lime candy, cream, vanillin, warm caramel, candle wax, honeycomb, melted white butter, shade of herbaceousness, chalk, saline with white spring flowers, greens & withering yellow florals. Cool shower acidity. The balance is excellent as is the consistent, persistent finish. You get some white spice with understated heat with great alluvial limestone minerality on the long set.

Great Sauvignon Blanc from France. Who knew?!? Nice pineapple and passion fruit notes. — 6 days ago
Always 100% Chardonnay, the 2013 ‘Le Reve’ is a tour de force from this storied Carneros house. The mousse here is highly refined. Salted biscuit aromatic tones grab your attention with Meyer lemon zest and shades of wild mushroom and toasted hazelnuts all take shape in the glass. The silly mousse is downright incredible. Bright kumquat zest and sourdough bread tones mingle with macadamia nut and suggestions of white truffles on this complex palate. This is salty and savory California sparkling wine at its best. Beautifully textured, with great length, this stunning new bottling will enjoy a very long life ahead of it. Drink 2020-2035- 95

Color of cranberry juice, with a bit cloudy and purple hue on the rim. Nose of ripe sour dark fruits, like sour cherry and cranberry, a bit spice, a bit vanilla, a bit stingy in the nasal cavity, and a bit black tea fragrance. Taste of good quality tannins, good acidity, subtle sweetness, fermented cabbage, some mineral and spice, a bit oaky, and soft with some zest. Aftertaste of some more bittersweetness. On par. — 19 days ago
