Dry Creek Valley Cabernet Sauvignon 2008

Beautiful potential wishing I would have let I lay for another few years. Tannins are beginning to soften but still lending a good back bone. Black raspberry and dark cherry in the mouth under nose of cedar and vanilla. — a day ago

San Giusto a Rentennano

Percarlo Toscana Sangiovese

One of eight wines in a 2007 Tuscan tasting, held about a week ago. This was the only one in the group that showed the heat of the vintage in its slight alcoholic warmth. However, it also sported a nicely rounded, almost creamy palate presence and a touch of cedar in the finish. I’m curious where this one might go with another few years in the cellar. — 4 days ago

Pungently floral, ripe peaches, smoke, vegetal note like pea tendrils or watercress maybe. Really distinctive — 11 days ago

2009 vintage . Delicious with long fruit. Lots of vanilla toast flavor, which I like. Sweet tannins. Will age another 5 years. — a month ago

Some of the best Sonoma Cabs going.

Wendouree Cabernet Sauvignon 1997

My wife Barb holding the 1997 Wendouree Cabernet Sauvignon. The wine was a gift from me to my brother Mike on his 70th Birthday a couple of years ago and yesterday at lunch at his place he decided to open it. The Wine itself had trademark aromas of menthol and eucalyptus. On the palate a powerful mid to full bodied palate with great savoury length and medium persistent tannins. Lacking a little berry fruit to be ultra critical. — 10 days ago

@TheSkip Yes the Skip. Great view from the Toowoomba Range to the East into the Lockyer Valley. You can see a feature known as Table Top which is an old volcanic plug. Great spot for Lunch.

Blanc de Blancs 1er Cru Brut Champagne Chardonnay 2012

Somewhat metallic at first. Then the palate is really crunchy green apple. Nicely mineral. Fresh. — 2 days ago
