BFM (Brasserie des Franches-Montagnes)

Abbaye de Saint Bon Chien 2019

BFM = Brasserie Franches Montagne. This is the Flanders Red Ale. A sour ale.

Nose is elegant cherry. Cherry flower. Hint of lilac. Expansive in an elegant way.

Palate is cherry. A hint of brick. A hint of herbs. Lovely internal aromatics. Great texture. Beautiful elegant bitterness.

Dôle du Valais AOC Gamay-Pinot Noir Blend 2016

Gamay Pinot blend from Valais. A grower for sure. At first sip, this wine was underwhelming - tight and herbal; it opened up beautifully over time with barely ripe orchard fruit (red apple, cherry, red plum) and became one of my tops from alpine wine night. — 6 months ago
