Medium Ruby with aromas of dark berry fruits with notes of herbs, citrus and sweet spice. On the palate flavors of blackberry, cranberry and cherry with espresso, vanilla and herb tea spice, well balanced with acidity. Fine soft tannins on a long finish ending with cacao, baking spices and earthy character. Very nice! — 6 months ago

In 2019 Lyle said closed us fuck. And the wine is really tough to taste upon opening. Cranberry, tart, very acidic needs more time to open up. Doesn’t really convince me. 17 must have been a tough vintage for them. Will try the big boys Muschelkalk and Buntsandstein next if i can find them in my messy cellar. And then try this again in 2 hours. — 2 months ago
I opened the 2021 Failla Sonoma Coast Pinot Noir.
On the nose there is cherry, strawberry, cranberry, truffles, violets and earth.
On the palate there is bing cherry, strawberry, cranberry, vanilla, cinnamon, spice and light earth.
This wine is medium bodied with a smooth velvety mouthfeel medium to medium + acidity and medium to medium + fine supple tannins that moves into a long red fruit spicy finish. Enjoy the weekend and stay safe and healthy. Nostrovia! 🍷🍷🍷🍷 — a month ago
Deeper ruby , narrower more intense ruby rim . Pretty closed , lots in there though not yielding much at first at least . Dark spicy cassis , tobacco and cigar , cedar , grafite, cranberry . Lots of weight and ripe black currant and red currant , cranberry , saline , marine influences. Very fine but quite noticeable tannins , longer with more structure than the 2001 . Wonderful freshness from crisp but balanced acidity. Hugely long on the palate. This needs more time , will improve over the next 20 years and probably maintain over a further 20. This gives a glimpse into what a future it has ahead of it . So complex and statuesque , perfect poise , supremely elegant . Wine of the night for me without a shadow of a doubt . — 6 months ago

Nose of cranberry, raspberry, slightly peppery smoke and a hint of Halloween mask latex over a pale red peach, and slightly rusty color and a surprisingly light body. For a 6 year old wine the acidity is still sharp, tart and gently tannic, with a surprising freshness in ripe red fruits, deep rose florals and gentle tannins. As the wine opens, the nose and palate blossomed, into a bouquet of rose, wet dark stone, a bit of dried cactus bramble, a hint of mushroom and crushed ripe red fruit. Oof, delicious. — 7 days ago
