Pale ruby. Light body, medium alcohol 13%, soft light tannins. Similar to a Pinot Noir or a Poulsard. The texture is very supple and silky, very glyceric. I was expecting higher acidity but I actually would put it in the medium to medium+ range. #schiava #altoadigewine #altoadige #italy — a year ago
Homemade sushi with a 2018 rare white blend from Cantina Terlano-Kellerei 🥂🍣🇮🇹
A medium golden color fills the glass as I pour this wine from Alto Adige, Italy. The tropical fruit aromas of pears and peaches on the nose are blended with honey, citrus, and mineral notes. Light to medium body with a long finish.
It is a refreshing wine with well balanced acidity. We paired it with our homemade tuna and salmon rolls. A delicious pairing for a Saturday night!
All wines from Cantina Terlano are produced under DOC quality (Controlled Designation of Origin). In the Alto Adige Terlano area in particular, the DOC classification can only be used for white wines that contain a minimum of 50% Pinot Blanc and/or Chardonnay. This bottle is 60% Pinot Bianco, 30% Chardonnay, and 10% Sauvignon Blanc.
Cheers! 🇮🇹🥂

One of the best #pinotgrigio that I’ve ever had. Dry Rieslingish in style and aromas and then lees and hay and honey on the palate. #altoadige — a year ago
Simple. Tart red fruit (raspberry, red cherry and red currant ) very little secondary or tertiary aromas or flavors. Reminded me more of a Garnacha de Gredos due to the high acidity and medium intensity aromas and flavors. Still drank the whole bottle. Warm. 13.5 that feels like 14.5. #pinotnero #pinotnoir #altoadige — a year ago
After reading Matt Kramer’s excellent book “Matt Kramer on Wine” - I was intrigued by his description of #lagrein wine from #altoadige in 🇮🇹. I found this sole example at Total and having now enjoyed it over a week, I have to say you must try this grape and region if you like interesting and complex red wines. It really does well just south of room temperature with a mixture of bramble berry, hot stone, touch of sandalwood and very faint clove aromas. There’s a rich mouthfeel and dense mouth-coating tannins that are nevertheless very soft, plus a backdrop of minerality and acidity that just calls out to pair this most excellent wine with savory dishes. I must go forth and sing the praises of Lagrein. That this wine is not more well known is one of the great tragedies of modern wine marketing. — 2 years ago
Crisp and tart and with a yeasty grainy texture. Definitely suitable for further bottle aging although delicious now. #pinotbianco #pinotblanc #altoadige #sudtirol — a year ago
Really enjoyable and well made #pinotnoir #pinotnero #riserva from #altoadige #sudtirol #italy Perhaps the acidity is a little too high and there isn’t enough ripe fruit and body to balance it, but it has delicate and precise aromas and flavors. — a year ago
I’m surprised by the low ratings here for previous vintages. The producer certainly should be lauded for a worthwhile effort on this 2019 #pinotnoir from the #altoadige region. Wild cherry, compote, touch of baking spice and mushroom + soft forest floor aromas. Delicious tartness up front in the mouth, velvety tannins finish on a medium light body. Really nice quaffable Old World Pinot Noir - hopefully they can maintain this nice QPR in future vintages. $9 at Total Wine with volume discounts. — 2 years ago

#altoadige #shiava - medium-light bodied, similar to Pinot Noir but less up-front fruit - stewed cherry, ultra-soft tannins, nice tartness but a bit unsubstantial on the finish. Started to oxidize and fade after a couple of days in wine fridge. — a year ago
