Decent quaffer #maulevalley #sauvignonblanc. Kind of interesting herbal grassy nose but palate falls a bit flat, lacking texture and fruit to offset the piquant acidity, touch of lemon pith bitterness on the finish. #totalwine — 2 years ago

Lush green herb/fruit aromas: lemongrass, key lime, chives. Good viscosity on palate, delicious acidity, more rounded finish. Excellent #montereycounty #sauvignonblanc . — 3 years ago
Have you tried the 2022 release of the 3drops Sauvignon Blanc yet?
Mr Spittoon and I thoroughly enjoyed it yesterday after we’d finished up in the office.
It’s wonderfully crisp and clean, just how I like my Sauv Blancs.
It’s a touch herbaceous with deliciously juicy notes of fresh lychee, gooseberry and a lick of passionfruit. It has lots of acidity but is well balanced and 100% smashable.
It had me craving a seafood platter and summer weather.
3drops is a wine and olive oil producer from WA’s Great Southern region led by the wonderful Joanne Bradbury aka @joanne3drops. Who kindly sent me this sample bottle (thank you!).
The Great Southern is in fact the largest wine region in Australia spanning 100kms from north to south and 200kms from east to west. Because it’s right down the bottom of WA it’s a lot cooler which is why varieties like Sauvignon Blanc thrive 🥳

Catalan dead ringer for New Zealand #sauvignonblanc - grapefruit, lemon grass, white tropical fruit aromas, bright citrus acidity up front, light texture. Delicious wine with Gambas al Ajillo, stands up well to robust garlic and parsley flavors. #catalunya — 2 years ago
Pleasant #sauvignonblanc from #mendoza - lemon verbena, kaffir lime on the nose, delicious mouthwatering tart lemon notes on palate, viscous sensation, crisp finish. Let this one warm up a bit in the glass to enjoy it. #nicewinery — 3 years ago
Full flavored and intense. #sauvignonblanc #southafricanwine — 4 years ago
California #sauvignonblanc is underrated, IMHO. This $7 example (Costco) proves the point and illustrates the chameleonic nature of this varietal depending on terroir. Fleshy stone fruit, citrus, yellow tropical fruit notes. Lush fruit on palate nicely set against by acidity. — 4 years ago
Delicious #marlborough #sauvignonblanc - Heady grapefruit, passionfruit and an under layer of green herbs on the nose. Upon first unscrewing, (+1 for easy, reliable closures;) noticeable prickle on the tongue suggests perhaps unintentional secondary fermentation. If so, it’s a happy accident as a delicious impression of grapefruit soda envelopes your mouth. Touch of grapefruit pith bitterness on the finish. Lovely refreshing alternative to more pedestrian mass-market Kiwi SB. — 2 years ago
This highly rated #marlborough #sauvignonblanc proves NZ wines like this need not be one-dimensional high-acid quaffers. Grapefruit, elderflower, grassy and herby aromas on the palate. Yes, there’s a big wave of tart green fruit up front but layers continue on the palate with a bit more luscious concentration than typical for the region. Delicious. — 2 years ago
Fascinating QPR #traderjoes #sauvignonblanc - lovely lifted aromatics, dried herb and grassy notes, grapefruit pith, lemongrass. More pedestrian on the palate but solid balance nonetheless, citrus oil, quick finish. — 3 years ago
Big QPR #sancerre - while less layered than fancier examples from the AOC, still that fine balance between crispness and more richness than you expect from #sauvignonblanc - I can envision this with a not-spicy crab fried rice. — 3 years ago
Richer #touraine #sauvignonblanc - jasmine, dried white flower, hay aromas - delicious on the tongue, pleasing viscous texture from lees aging, honeysuckle, touch of orange marmalade and hints of white pepper on finish. Plenty of acidity framing the whole experience. Intriguing, complex #loirevalley white from Domaine Paul Buisse. Righteous QPR #costco wine. — 4 years ago

Pleasantly surprised by this #pasorobles #sauvignonblanc. Balanced, rich texture, some lemongrass, orchard fruit. Nice counterpoint to NZ SB. — 8 months ago
