This is such a hidden gem. Alix and Etinne's negociant label. Do I see the Roulot influence here (wink wink)? I guess so. Very muted on the nose: minerality, honey, white flowers, ripe citrus, and stone fruits. Sooo much more expressive on the palate! Very broad and soft textures, white Brioche, baking spices, apple blossoms, medium+ very integrated and soft acidity. LONG finish. — 2 years ago
Nice dry red! Wink! — 3 years ago
The nose is pleasant but a bit musty and tired, like I’ve rented a 150 year-old farmhouse on the coast of Ireland for a quiet weekend away. Upstairs, in an old sock drawer, is an ancient bag of potpourri containing dried herbs, crusty rose petals, and lumpy brittle strawberries that mingle with the peat and damp hay drifting through the air. The palate is fresher, brighter, the same but somehow newer, like the proprietor of the old house, a 30-ish strawberry blond named Fiona, whose great-great-grandfather built this place with his bare hands, has burst through the front door to greet me with a wink and wry smile. Like her, this wine is feminine but not delicate, stout but not burly, complex but not ostentatious. I’ll spare you any further indulgence of this tortured metaphor, but this wine is nearly everything you want in a mature Barolo – the acid is bracing in a good way, the tannin fully resolved, the balance exquisite, the length prodigious. — 4 years ago
Amazing on the nose - so pure, so juicy.
Dark fruit (mulberries, dark cherries, forest fruit compote (love the warmness of 2018 here!)) with w pinch of exotic spice (clove, cinnamon, anise?) But also nice sappy freshness., a hint of fresh moss or tree bark. This is enticing!
On the palate this surprises with lightness, purity, linear clarity and brilliant juiciness. Fine, polished tannins, great quality of fruit - this is so full of character yet almost weightless.
You could take this for a perfect glou glou wine (and it is!) but there’s a also wink of seriousness, too!
Ridiculous value! — 2 years ago
Glowing glossy chartreuse with a side wink. Seriously complex, playful soul. It's fruity and floral as riesling goes - violets, grape gummies, finger lime, rubber ball, and if you find it, because it comes and goes, the best little kick of secret mint.
Olive oilish viscosity with kiwi level acid. There but not center of attention there. Descents to peachy, yellow apples, lime drizzled in honey, and a long goodbye. — 2 years ago
Vintage 2016 | This wine developed itself fine with a few years cellar. Expressive cassis, decanted three hours, afterwards very good drinking with a good structure. Pierre Ardoin - a oenologist at the Bordeaux university - makes this wine with a wink to its more reputed colleague vintners on the other side of the Gironde river. | paired with bbq, incredible good p/q. — 2 years ago
A Burgundy with a wink to piemonte... pine tar, tobacco, leather, smoke... salty on the mouth, more tannic than expected. And that beautiful burgundy berry. Unique and beautiful. Super happy. — 4 years ago

Already developed into drinking window. Sometimes you have these wines that do not tip the high rating scales, not overly complex, layered or standout elements. No, this is just really well balanced and giving a lot of pleasure and easy drinking.
Funny fact: This cuvee name means badger in Occitan, a wink at the animal who eats Jean-Francois' grapes.. 🦡 — 5 months ago
